Q: Are these Chanel Clip‑on Hoop Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials are they made from? Are they solid gold?
A: These earrings are pieces of vintage fashion jewellery crafted from gold‑plated metal featuring a braided hoop design. They are not solid gold. Please review the close‑up photos and features, and contact us if you’d like us to confirm any specifics regarding the composition.

Q: What are the measurements and how big are they?
A: They are statement earrings measuring approximately 5.7 cm (height) x 4.5 cm (width) x 0.5 cm (depth). If you would like the precise gram weight or a photo on a model to help gauge the scale and weight, please message us and we will provide it.

Q: How do the clip‑on fastenings work? Are they comfortable?
A: They feature a classic paddle clip‑on mechanism, making them suitable for non‑pierced ears. While vintage clips are generally secure, comfort varies by individual. We recommend acquiring simple silicone comfort pads (widely available) to cushion the lobe and enhance grip for longer wear.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect?
A: Vintage Chanel earrings typically bear an oval hallmark plate on the reverse of the clip or hoop, indicating the season and country of origin. This pair is noted as being Made in France. Please refer to our listing images to view the specific stamps present on this piece.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive skin? Is there nickel?
A: Vintage fashion jewellery alloys often contain nickel. If you have metal sensitivities, use caution; applying a clear barrier product to the clip or using stick‑on pads can help properly insulate the skin. Discontinue wear if irritation occurs.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑plated finish?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, hairspray, and lotions to prevent tarnishing or fading. After wear, wipe gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak or use chemical dips. Store them separately in a pouch or box to protect the plating from scratches.

Q: Can the clips be adjusted or repaired?
A: Clip mechanisms can sometimes loosen with age; a jeweller can often adjust the tension carefully. We do not offer in‑house adjustments or repairs. Please note that significant alterations may affect the item’s originality and resale value.

Q: What condition should I expect and what is included?
A: These earrings are in Very Good Condition, showing light signs of wear consistent with their vintage nature unless noted otherwise. This listing includes no accessories. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility and conditions.
