Q: What size is this choker, and how will it sit when worn?
A: The necklace measures approximately 41 cm in circumference, which is about 16.1 inches. That places it in classic choker territory, so it is designed to sit close to the base of the neck. Fit can vary depending on your neck measurement, so comparing 41 cm with a necklace you already wear comfortably is the best guide.

Q: What are the key design details of this piece?
A: This vintage Chanel choker features gold-tone hardware, chain fringe detailing, interlocking CC logo charms and a lobster clasp closure. The fringe gives it a more dramatic, statement look than a simpler chain necklace.

Q: What does 2001s mean in the product name?
A: In vintage Chanel naming, 2001 usually indicates the piece dates to 2001. Chanel jewellery from the later vintage period often carries a discreet signature plaque or mark used to help date the design, although collectors and authenticators always assess the full construction and finish rather than relying on one detail alone.

Q: Is this solid gold or Chanel fashion jewellery?
A: This piece is Chanel fashion jewellery with gold-tone hardware rather than solid gold. Vintage Chanel jewellery is collected for its design, craftsmanship and iconic house motifs as much as for its materials.

Q: What condition is this choker in?
A: It is listed in very good condition. The hardware is described as shiny with light scratches, which is consistent with gentle prior wear and the age of a vintage jewellery piece.

Q: Does it come with the original box, pouch or authenticity card?
A: No accompanying items are listed for this piece. If an original box, pouch or card is important to you, the Product Information on this page reflects what is included with the item.

Q: How should I style a Chanel fringe choker like this?
A: A statement choker like this works especially well with open necklines, simple black dresses, satin tops, sharp tailoring or eveningwear. Because the fringe and CC charms already draw the eye, many collectors prefer to let it be the focal point and keep other jewellery minimal.

Q: How should I care for vintage Chanel jewellery like this?
A: Keep it away from water, perfume, hairspray and body lotions, and wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth after wear. Store it separately in a dry place to help preserve the finish and minimise rubbing, scratches and tarnishing over time.

Q: How is vintage Chanel jewellery usually authenticated?
A: Authentic vintage Chanel jewellery is typically assessed through a combination of hallmarks or signature plaques, overall weight, finish, construction quality and period-correct details. On many vintage necklaces, the signature is placed discreetly near the clasp or on the reverse of an element, and expert authentication is always more reliable than any single stamp on its own.
