Q: What is the case size and how does it wear on the wrist?
A: The Première L features an octagonal case measuring approximately 20 × 26 mm. This piece is sized to fit a wrist of 16 cm or smaller, giving a refined, bracelet‑like presence rather than a large sport watch feel.

Q: Is the bracelet adjustable on this interlaced leather and chain design?
A: Yes, but adjustment is specialised. Resizing typically involves removing chain links and re‑threading/replacing the interlaced leather. We recommend a CHANEL boutique or a qualified watchmaker for precise sizing and to preserve the plating and leather integrity.

Q: What movement does it use and do I need to wind it?
A: It uses a high‑precision Swiss quartz movement, so there is no manual winding. Set the time via the crown; the watch runs continuously on its battery.

Q: How long does the battery last and when should I replace it?
A: Battery life typically ranges from about 2 to 7 years depending on usage and model. If the watch stops, replace the battery within three months to avoid potential leakage that could damage the movement.

Q: Is the Première water‑resistant?
A: It is rated to 3 ATM/30 metres, suitable for everyday splashes and light rain. It is not intended for swimming, showering, or submersion. As a vintage piece, seals may have aged—have water resistance tested after any service and avoid moisture exposure unless freshly pressure‑tested.

Q: Does this watch have a date or second hand?
A: No. The classic Première design displays hours and minutes only, contributing to its clean, jewellery‑like aesthetic.

Q: What is the design inspired by?
A: The octagonal case is a CHANEL signature, echoing the stopper of the N°5 fragrance bottle and the geometry of Place Vendôme. The bracelet’s chain interlaced with leather recalls the House’s iconic handbag chain.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑plated hardware and leather‑interlaced bracelet?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear. Avoid abrasive cleaners, fragrances, and prolonged moisture or sweat. Store separately in a soft pouch, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Periodically check the leather interlacing; it can be replaced by a professional if worn.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This watch is sold without accessories such as a box or papers. Everything included is listed under Accessories on this page; if it is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How do you authenticate this watch?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, finishing, dial and case details, movement type, engravings and serials. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional details on request.
