Q: What are the size and fit details of this Chanel Première M watch?
A: The case measures approximately 20 × 26 mm (octagonal shape with a black lacquered dial). This particular bracelet is currently sized to fit a wrist of up to around 15 cm. Although Chanel offered S/M/L bracelet lengths on the Première, a jeweller can usually add or remove chain links and re‑thread the leather to fine‑tune the fit.

Q: What movement does it use and how long will the battery last?
A: It runs on a Swiss quartz movement for accurate, low‑maintenance timekeeping. As a guide, Chanel states that batteries typically last between two and seven years depending on the model and use. If the watch stops, replace the battery within three months to avoid leakage; have seals checked at the same time.

Q: Is it water‑resistant? Can I wear it in the shower or for swimming?
A: The Première line is generally rated to 30 metres/3 ATM, which means it’s suitable for everyday splashes only. It is not designed for showering, swimming or submersion. Because this is a vintage piece, water‑resistance cannot be guaranteed without testing—avoid water exposure and request a pressure test after any battery change or service.

Q: What crystal does it have and how durable is it?
A: The Première H0001 reference is commonly fitted with a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal. While tougher than mineral glass, sapphire can still chip on hard impacts—treat the watch with care and avoid knocks.

Q: How do I set the time?
A: Gently pull the crown out one click, rotate to set the hands, then push the crown back in to restart the movement. For full operating and care instructions, follow the Première user manual guidance from Chanel or consult a professional if unsure.

Q: Can the bracelet be resized or the interlaced leather replaced?
A: Yes. A professional watchmaker can resize the jewellery‑style chain by adding/removing links, and specialists can replace the interlaced leather cord when it shows wear. Because the bracelet integrates leather and chain, resizing and leather replacement are best left to experienced workshops.

Q: What do the reference H0001 and size “M” indicate on this model?
A: H0001 is Chanel’s reference for the classic gold‑plated Première with black dial and chain‑and‑leather bracelet. Chanel produced the bracelet in fixed sizes (S/M/L). Although this example is an “M”, it has been sized to fit approximately 15 cm; further adjustments may be possible via a jeweller. Extra links for vintage models may need to be sourced pre‑owned and are not guaranteed to be available.

Q: What accessories are included with this watch?
A: This item is offered without accessories—no box, papers or extras are included. Everything provided is listed on this page; please contact us if you need clarification.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑plated case and leather‑interlaced bracelet?
A: Wipe the metal gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear and avoid abrasives, ultrasonic cleaning and contact with perfume, lotions or hair products, which can dull plating. Keep the leather dry; clean lightly with a slightly damp cloth and allow it to air‑dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Store the watch separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratches.

Q: How often should I service a Première quartz watch?
A: Beyond routine battery changes, Chanel recommends a periodic service roughly every five years to check movement health and water‑resistance. Always have gaskets inspected and a pressure test performed after any battery replacement to help preserve moisture protection.
