Q: Are these Christian Dior CD Rhinestone Hoop Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are they solid gold and are the stones diamonds?
A: These are Dior fashion jewellery earrings crafted from gold‑tone plated metal with rhinestones set in the dangling CD logo charm. They are not solid gold and the stones are not diamonds.

Q: What are the measurements and how will they feel on?
A: The earrings are listed at approximately 3.2 cm (height) x 1.4 cm (width) x 2.3 cm (depth). They offer a refined hoop with a small drop charm—noticeable without feeling overly heavy for most wearers. If you’d like the exact gram weight or a photo on ear for scale, just let us know and we’ll measure it for you.

Q: How do they fasten and are they secure?
A: They feature a post back closure for pierced ears. Ensure the backs are seated snugly before wear; consider using comfortable locking backs for extra security. Avoid hard impacts to protect the stones and plating.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on vintage Dior earrings?
A: Vintage Dior costume jewellery typically bears a “Christian Dior” or “Chr. Dior” signature, and some pieces include a country of origin stamp (e.g., France, Germany or Italy). Placement and format vary by era. Our close‑up photos show any stamps present on this pair.

Q: Are the rhinestones Swarovski?
A: Many vintage Dior pieces historically used high‑quality crystals, including Swarovski in certain eras, but stone types can vary by collection. For this specific pair, we can confirm details on request.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears? Is there any nickel?
A: Fashion jewellery alloys and platings may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider a clear barrier product on the posts, limit wear time initially, and discontinue use if irritation occurs. A jeweller may be able to re‑plate the posts in a hypoallergenic finish if required.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone plating and rhinestones?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, hairspray, lotions and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store individually in a pouch or box to prevent scratches and minimise friction that can loosen stones.

Q: Can they be repaired, replated or converted to clip‑ons?
A: A competent jeweller can often tighten posts, replace backs, secure or replace missing rhinestones and perform gentle replating. Clip‑on conversions may be possible but can alter originality and affect resale value—please consult us for reputable specialists before proceeding.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: This pair is in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes no accessories unless specifically shown or stated. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
