Q: What typically fits in the Fendi Mamma Corduroy Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 28 × 19 × 10 cm, it comfortably carries daily essentials such as a long wallet, smartphone, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch, and an 11-inch tablet. A small reusable water bottle (up to 500 ml) fits best laid horizontally. Capacity depends on how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Does it fit A4 documents or a 13-inch laptop?
A: No. At 19 cm in height, this bag does not accommodate A4 documents (21 × 29.7 cm) or most 13-inch laptops without bending or protruding. Slim tablets and diaries fit more easily.

Q: How can I wear it—shoulder or crossbody?
A: This model is designed for the shoulder with a short, adjustable drop of around 20 cm for an under‑the‑arm carry. It is not intended for crossbody wear on most heights.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: It features a flap with a magnetic fastening for quick, practical access. For added security, place valuables in the internal zipped pocket. Note that magnets are not lockable and are best for day‑to‑day use rather than high‑security needs.

Q: What are the hallmark features of the Mamma style?
A: The Mamma is the larger, roomier iteration of Fendi’s Baguette introduced in the late 1990s. Key details typically include the short adjustable shoulder strap, under‑the‑arm silhouette and the FF‑logo clasp or hardware, varying by material and season.

Q: How should I care for the corduroy exterior?
A: Gently brush the nap in the direction of the wales to lift dust and restore texture. For marks, spot clean with a soft cloth dampened with cold water and a small amount of mild detergent, then blot dry—avoid soaking. Allow to air dry away from direct heat and sunlight. Store the bag loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag to maintain its shape, and keep it away from dark denim or saturated colours to minimise transfer.

Q: Is corduroy rain‑friendly?
A: Light drizzles are usually fine if you blot dry promptly, but prolonged moisture can flatten the nap or cause water marks. If caught in rain, blot—don’t rub—and let it air dry completely before brushing the nap back up.

Q: What about the hardware—will it scratch or tarnish?
A: The silver‑tone hardware may show light surface scratches with wear (as noted under Condition). Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth after use and avoid metal polishes or chemical cleaners, which can damage plated finishes.

Q: Does this item include any extras?
A: Product information: the bag only. No additional items are included unless explicitly stated on this page.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag, and where would any Fendi identifiers be?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, logos, hardware, stamps and date/serial details. Depending on production period, vintage Fendi bags may have a serial printed inside the interior pocket, a leather tag with a number, or a later hologram/RFID tag; some older prints can fade with time. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide further photos or details on request.
