Q: What does “Carré 140” mean?
A: “Carré 140” refers to the large square format, approximately 140 x 140 cm. As Hermès shawls are hand-finished, the exact dimensions can vary slightly from piece to piece.

Q: What is this scarf made from?
A: This is a cashmere and silk scarf, a luxurious blend prized for its soft hand feel, light warmth and elegant drape. It offers more softness and warmth than pure silk while still feeling refined and lightweight.

Q: How can I wear a Hermès Carré 140 scarf?
A: A 140 shawl is one of the most versatile Hermès formats. It can be worn draped over the shoulders, wrapped around the neck, styled as a travel layer, or folded for a more compact scarf look.

Q: Is a Carré 140 suitable for year-round wear?
A: Yes. Many collectors choose the 140 format because the cashmere and silk blend feels light enough for transitional weather while still offering comfortable warmth in cooler months.

Q: How should I care for this scarf?
A: Cashmere and silk scarves are best handled gently. We recommend professional dry cleaning when needed, avoiding direct heat and prolonged sun exposure, and storing it neatly folded in a dry place away from rough surfaces, jewellery and sprays that could mark the fibres.

Q: What condition is this scarf in?
A: This piece is listed in Very Good Condition with light trace of use. For a pre-owned Hermès scarf, this means it remains highly wearable and presentable, with only gentle signs of previous ownership.

Q: Does this item come with any extras?
A: No. According to the product information, this item comes with no accessories.

Q: How do I know this Hermès scarf is authentic?
A: Every item sold by A Retro Tale is professionally vetted for authenticity. In general, Hermès scarves are known for details such as precise printing, high-quality materials and hand-rolled edges, and this piece has been reviewed before sale.

Q: Is the 140 format a good choice if I want a statement accessory?
A: Yes. The Carré 140 is especially popular with buyers who want a scarf that makes a visual impact. Its larger size allows the artwork to be appreciated more fully and gives you more styling options than smaller scarf formats.
