Q: What are the Hermès Eurydice PM earrings made of?
A: They are crafted from natural buffalo horn with gold‑plated metal elements. As horn is a natural material, each piece shows unique grain and colour variations—this is part of its charm.

Q: What does PM mean, and what is the size of this pair?
A: PM stands for Petit Modèle (small model). This pair measures approximately 4.5 × 2 × 0.4 cm; please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact details.

Q: Are these for pierced ears or clip‑ons?
A: They feature a post‑back closure for pierced ears.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears?
A: The metal components are gold‑plated over a base metal. Many people wear them comfortably, but those with very sensitive or nickel‑reactive ears may prefer solid gold or medical‑grade metals for everyday wear. Using silicone clutches and limiting wear time can also help if you are sensitive.

Q: Are they heavy to wear?
A: Buffalo horn is naturally lightweight compared with solid metal, so despite their length, most find this style comfortable for extended wear.

Q: How should I care for the buffalo horn elements?
A: Keep the horn dry and away from steam, high heat, and prolonged direct sunlight. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear. Do not soak or use ultrasonic cleaners. To maintain lustre, you may very lightly condition the horn occasionally with a drop of neutral natural oil (e.g., jojoba), then buff gently.

Q: How do I care for the gold‑plated finish?
A: Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and hairspray; put the earrings on last when dressing. Clean only with a soft, non‑abrasive cloth and avoid metal polishes or harsh chemicals. Store individually in the box or a soft pouch to prevent scratches.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: The box is included as listed in the product information. Everything included with this piece is stated under product information; if an item is not listed there, it is not included—feel free to contact us for confirmation.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, stamps and hardware. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional details on request.

Q: Can the posts or earring backs be replaced if needed?
A: The posts are part of the original Hermès design and we do not perform alterations on vintage pieces. A trusted jeweller can usually provide replacement clutches if required.
