Q: What does size 80 mean and what waist will it fit?
A: Louis Vuitton belt sizes are measured in centimetres from the buckle prong to the middle hole. Size 80 is approximately 32 inches and typically suits waists around 75–85 cm thanks to the standard hole spacing. For the best fit, measure a belt you already wear from the buckle to your most‑used hole and match that length to the nearest LV size.

Q: Is this belt adjustable and how many holes does it have?
A: Most Louis Vuitton belts have five pre‑punched holes spaced about 2.5 cm apart, allowing fine adjustment. Additional holes or other alterations may be possible; we recommend consulting Louis Vuitton’s Care Service for feasibility and costs, or a reputable leather specialist if LV services are not available.

Q: Is this belt reversible or can the buckle be swapped?
A: This piece is designed to be worn Monogram side out with a natural leather lining and is not described as reversible. Reversible belts are specially constructed with two finished faces and a rotating or detachable buckle; buckle interchangeability is generally limited to those specific models.

Q: What is the belt’s width and will it fit my belt loops?
A: The strap is approximately 2 cm wide, a slim profile that works well with most trouser belt loops and dress waistbands. For heavier denim with wider loops, please compare against your garments.

Q: How should I care for the Monogram canvas and leather lining?
A: Wipe coated canvas with a soft cloth dampened with water and a little mild soap if needed, then dry gently. Avoid oils, alcohol‑based products such as perfumes or hand sanitisers, and harsh cleaners. Keep leather parts dry and away from prolonged sunlight or heat, and store the belt flat or loosely coiled.

Q: Will Monogram canvas crack or fade over time?
A: Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas is robust and long‑wearing, but contact with oils, alcohol, solvents, or prolonged heat can cause premature wear or cracking. Regular gentle cleaning and sensible storage will help preserve the finish for years.

Q: Does this item come with a box or dust bag?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. If an item such as a dust bag or box is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How can I check authenticity?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously authenticated by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, stamps and hardware. Note that some newer Louis Vuitton items may not have visible date codes as the brand has been phasing them out in favour of embedded microchips since 2021; our team considers these updates during authentication.

Q: What if I need a different size?
A: If you are between sizes, choose the next size up. As a guide, size 80 is roughly 32 inches. When in doubt, measure a current belt from the buckle to the hole you use most and match that length to the nearest LV size.
