Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Totally MM?
A: With approximate measurements of 43 × 29 × 17 cm, the Totally MM comfortably carries everyday essentials: large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, cosmetics pouch, small water bottle and an A5 diary/tablet. Slim A4 documents fit when placed horizontally; vertically they may be a touch tall against the 29 cm height. For a tailored fit check, share your items’ measurements and we’ll confirm against this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or a laptop?
A: Standard tablets (e.g., iPad/11-inch class) fit easily. A 13-inch laptop can often fit horizontally without a bulky sleeve but may be snug due to the tapered sides and zip opening; larger laptops are generally not advised. Please compare your device dimensions with our Measurements and we can test the fit for this specific bag on request.

Q: Can I wear it on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: It’s designed for shoulder carry. The dual flat straps have an approximate 24 cm drop for comfortable wear over light outerwear. It does not include a long crossbody strap, so crossbody wear isn’t intended.

Q: How secure is the closure and what pockets does it have?
A: The Totally MM features a top zip for everyday security. Externally, there are two side slip pockets for quick access (travel card, phone, receipts). Inside, the brown textile lining typically includes three organisational pockets to keep essentials tidy. Our listing photos show the exact layout of this piece.

Q: What is it made from and how durable is it?
A: This model is crafted from Louis Vuitton’s Monogram coated canvas with natural Vachetta leather trim and gold‑tone hardware. The coated canvas is robust and water‑resistant for light splashes; Vachetta is untreated, develops a honey patina with wear, and is more sensitive to moisture, oils and colour transfer. Hardware can show fine hairline scratches with normal use.

Q: How should I care for the canvas, Vachetta leather and hardware?
A: Keep the bag dry and avoid heavy rain. If lightly wet, blot (don’t rub) with a soft cloth and allow to air‑dry away from heat. Wipe canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth only; avoid harsh cleaners. Condition smooth leather sparingly with a high‑quality neutral product after testing on a discreet area, and be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim. Store upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag, with hardware cushioned to minimise scuffs.

Q: Is the Louis Vuitton Totally MM still produced?
A: The Totally line is widely regarded as discontinued, with availability now through the pre‑loved market rather than Louis Vuitton boutiques. Specific production dates can vary by size and material, but today it’s primarily a vintage/second‑hand find.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic pieces have an interior heat‑stamp (e.g., “LOUIS VUITTON Paris”) along with a country of origin. Older bags like the Totally MM typically include a date code on a small leather tab or along an interior seam; from around March 2021 the brand transitioned to embedded microchips instead of visible date codes. We’re happy to help locate and interpret the code (if present) for this bag.

Q: How does the Totally MM compare with the Neverfull MM?
A: Both are popular shoulder totes, but the Totally MM offers a zipped main compartment and two exterior pockets for added security and organisation. The Neverfull MM is open‑top with side laces and usually includes a removable pouch (when purchased new). Preference often comes down to whether you want a zip closure and external pockets (Totally) or an open‑top, slightly lighter feel (Neverfull).

Q: What condition is this specific piece in and what’s included?
A: Overall Very Good condition with light traces of use inside and out; hardware shows scratches and some discolouration. This listing is for the bag only—no accessories are included. Please review our close‑up photos and Condition notes for full details.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts through multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date code/microchip (depending on era) and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.
