Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Rivoli MM?
A: With approximate measurements of 33 × 26 × 12.5 cm, it comfortably carries a large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, cosmetics pouch, an A5 diary/notebook and a tablet (e.g., iPad/Air or 11‑inch iPad Pro) in one of the open compartments. A small water bottle can fit upright. For best balance, place heavier items in the zipped centre section. Compare your items’ dimensions with the Measurements shown or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit a tablet or laptop?
A: Standard tablets up to about 11 inches typically fit well. A 13‑inch laptop is usually a squeeze due to the structured silhouette and central zipped compartment; very slim models might fit in an open compartment without a bulky sleeve, but we don’t recommend it for daily carry. Please compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements or ask us to test against this item.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or removable? Can I wear it crossbody?
A: The Rivoli MM is designed with dual top handles and a detachable shoulder strap. On this piece we list an approximate strap drop of 36 cm and a handle drop of 10 cm. The strap length is best suited to shoulder carry; most wearers will find crossbody wear sits high. Adjustability can vary by edition—if you’d like us to confirm for this exact strap, just ask.

Q: How secure is the closure and what is the interior layout?
A: This Rivoli features a three‑compartment layout: a zipped central section flanked by two open compartments. Day‑to‑day security is excellent for valuables stored in the zipped middle; the open sections offer quick access for essentials. Our listing photos show the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: What materials and hardware does this piece have, and where is it made?
A: Damier Ébène coated canvas with brown leather trim, red textile lining and gold‑tone hardware. The interior heat‑stamp indicates Spain as the country of origin. Our photos and description show the precise finish and details of this item.

Q: How should I care for Damier Ébène canvas, leather trim and hardware?
A: Coated canvas is durable—wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. The dark Ébène leather trim is treated but should still be kept away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight; be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim. Store the bag lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag, and avoid overfilling to preserve its shape and the alignment of the zipped section. Protect hardware during storage to minimise hairline scratches.

Q: Are the padlock and keys functional, and do they secure the bag?
A: Yes—the padlock is functional and designed to secure the central zipper pulls. It adds a signature LV touch but isn’t intended to lock the two open compartments. The keys are housed in the clochette; we recommend removing the padlock during long‑term storage to prevent imprints.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Louis Vuitton bags feature an interior heat‑stamp (e.g., “LOUIS VUITTON Paris” and the country of origin). Older pieces usually include a date code on a small leather tab or along an interior seam; from around 2021 LV transitioned to an embedded microchip instead of a visible code. Placement varies—contact us if you’d like close‑up photos and help dating this exact piece.

Q: Is the Rivoli MM still produced?
A: The Rivoli MM is generally discontinued, with availability varying by season and region. The pre‑loved market is the best way to find specific configurations like Damier Ébène.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Included items for this listing are noted under “Accessories”; for this piece we list padlock, keys, clochette, shoulder strap and dust bag. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and date code/microchip. We stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
