Q: Is this Maison Margiela cuff bracelet authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials is it made from? Is it solid gold?
A: This cuff features black enamel over a gold‑tone metal finish. Maison Margiela fashion jewellery is typically crafted from plated base metal rather than solid gold unless explicitly stated. Please review the close‑up photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm the specific composition of this piece.

Q: What size is it and will it fit my wrist?
A: Please refer to the “Perimeter Bracelet” measurement on this page (our listing shows approximately 15 cm) and the “Width Bracelet” (around 2 cm). Cuffs have an opening and are often more forgiving than closed bangles, but they are not one‑size‑fits‑all. If you need the precise inner width and opening gap, message us and we’ll measure them so you can compare to your wrist circumference.

Q: Is it adjustable and how should I put it on?
A: It is a slip‑on cuff and does not have a clasp. We do not recommend bending or flexing the bracelet, as this can stress the enamel and plating. To wear, gently slide the opening over the softer side of the wrist (little‑finger side) and avoid forcing it over the widest part of the hand.

Q: What hallmarks or branding should I expect?
A: Many Maison Margiela pieces feature an engraved logo plaque; stamping can vary by collection and season. Placement and format differ, and some items may have minimal or discreet markings. Our listing photos show any logo plaque or stamps present on this cuff.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin? Is it nickel‑free?
A: Fashion jewellery may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider wearing the cuff over clothing or using a clear barrier product on contact points. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and feel free to contact us for guidance.

Q: How should I care for the enamel and gold‑tone finish?
A: Keep it dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store separately in a pouch or box to avoid scratches and preserve colour and lustre.

Q: Will the finish wear or the enamel chip over time?
A: Plated finishes can show light surface wear at high‑contact points, and enamel can chip if knocked or flexed. Proper care—keeping it dry, avoiding impact and storing individually—helps prolong its appearance. Any notable wear is disclosed in our photos and condition notes; this piece is listed in Very Good Condition.

Q: Can it be resized, repaired, re‑enamelled or replated?
A: Significant bending to resize is not recommended due to the enamel and plating. A specialist jeweller may offer services such as gentle replating, minor opening adjustment or enamel touch‑ups, but results and feasibility vary and can affect originality and resale value. We don’t perform alterations in‑house; contact us if you’d like recommendations for reputable specialists.

Q: What is included and can I return it if it doesn’t suit?
A: Only accessories specifically shown or listed are included—this cuff is delivered with a box. Returns are accepted in line with our policy; please see our Returns page for eligibility and timeframes, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
