Q: Are these suitable for non‑pierced ears?
A: Yes. These Miu Miu earrings use a clip‑on closure, so they can be worn comfortably without pierced ears. You can fine‑tune the clip tension and add silicone or foam pad cushions for extra comfort, especially with a long, dangling style.

Q: How large are they and how do they sit on the ear?
A: They measure approximately 9 cm in height, 1.7 cm in width and 1 cm in depth. The elongated drop gives a statement look below the earlobe. If your lobes are petite, consider using comfort pads to distribute pressure and keep the clips secure.

Q: Will clip‑on earrings stay secure for an evening out?
A: Properly adjusted clips are secure for events. Before heading out, put them on for a few minutes to check for slipping or pinching, then gently tighten or loosen the clip as needed. Cushion pads can improve both grip and comfort over several hours of wear.

Q: What are they made of and are they nickel‑free?
A: The exact metal composition isn’t specified for this vintage pair. Many fashion jewellery earrings are crafted from plated base metals (often brass) and may contain trace nickel. If you have sensitive skin, use barrier pads, avoid prolonged wear, and remove immediately if irritation occurs.

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones and faux pearl drops?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfumes, hairspray and lotions. Wipe gently after wear with a soft, dry cloth. Store them separately in a pouch to prevent scratching or knocks to the stones and pearl finish. Follow the rule of last on when dressing and first off when undressing.

Q: How do I clean rhinestone settings safely?
A: Avoid soaking. Use a dry, soft brush or a barely damp cotton bud to lift dust from metal and around stones, holding the piece so moisture cannot seep behind the stones. Immediately dry with a lint‑free cloth. Never submerge foil‑backed rhinestones, as trapped moisture can cause clouding.

Q: How do I clean faux pearls?
A: Wipe the pearls gently with a slightly damp, soft cloth and then dry them. Do not use abrasives, ultrasonic cleaners, chemicals or soaking, as this can damage the pearl coating and its lustre.

Q: Can a jeweller convert these clip‑ons to pierced posts?
A: Some jewellers can convert clip‑on earrings, but modifications may alter the balance, finish and resale value of vintage designer pieces. If you’re considering conversion, consult a specialist first and note that we sell items as described without alterations.

Q: What if a rhinestone becomes loose or goes missing?
A: An experienced costume‑jewellery repairer can often re‑secure or replace stones. Bring the earring and any dislodged stones to a professional; avoid wearing the piece until repaired to prevent further loss.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This pair is sold as pictured with no accessories. Please refer to the Accessories section on this page for any updates.

Q: How do you authenticate these earrings?
A: Every piece at A Retro Tale is examined by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of construction, hardware, stamps and overall workmanship. We stand behind the authenticity of all items and are happy to provide additional photos or details on request.
