Q: What typically fits inside the Saint Laurent Embossed Croc Clutch Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 27 × 19 × 3 cm, it comfortably holds a large smartphone, passport, slim wallet or cardholder, keys, and a few small cosmetics. Capacity varies with how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Does it come with a strap or chain?
A: This piece is designed as a handheld clutch and does not include a shoulder strap or chain. Everything included is listed under the product information section; for this item, no extras are included. Some third‑party inserts allow you to add a chain under the flap, but these can imprint the leather and are not recommended.

Q: Is the leather genuine crocodile?
A: No. Crocodile‑embossed leather is calfskin stamped to mimic a crocodile texture. It offers the look of exotics with easier day‑to‑day care and maintenance.

Q: How secure is the closure and how is the inside organised?
A: It features a flap with clasp closure. Inside, there is branded fabric lining with two compartments and one zipped pocket to keep essentials neatly separated.

Q: Will it fit a larger phone?
A: Yes. Most larger smartphones up to about 16.5 cm in height fit comfortably within the 19 cm internal height, leaving room for a slim cardholder and keys.

Q: How should I care for crocodile‑embossed leather?
A: Wipe with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth, avoiding harsh cleaners and oils. Allow to air‑dry naturally if lightly wet. Condition sparingly with a neutral leather conditioner only if the leather feels dry. Store stuffed to maintain shape, in a breathable dust bag, away from direct sunlight and colour‑transfer sources (for example, new denim).

Q: What signs of wear should I expect from this vintage piece?
A: Overall in very good condition with visible scuffing on the corners and under the flap; the interior shows a light trace of use. Hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the photos for close‑up details.

Q: Where is the serial/date code located on Saint Laurent bags?
A: On most Saint Laurent bags, a heat‑stamped serial/date code is found on a small leather tag inside the bag or interior pocket. Placement and format vary by model and year, and some vintage pieces can differ. If you would like us to locate or photograph it, just let us know.

Q: Where is this piece made?
A: This item is labelled France. Saint Laurent leather goods are commonly produced in France or Italy depending on model and season.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this item?
