Q: What are these earrings made of?
A: They are crafted in solid 925 sterling silver as part of Tiffany & Co.’s Return to Tiffany collection. The hearts are formed using a casting technique and hand-polished for shine, featuring the iconic Return to Tiffany signature engraving.

Q: What does “Return to Tiffany” mean?
A: The motif traces back to a 1966 Tiffany key ring engraved “Please return to Tiffany & Co. New York,” which was registered so lost keys could be reunited with their owner. The concept later evolved into one of Tiffany’s most recognisable jewellery collections, including these heart earrings.

Q: How big are they and how do they fasten?
A: Approximately 3 cm in height, 2 cm in width and 0.2 cm in depth. They feature a hook (French wire) closure for an easy, elegant drop. Measurements are taken at the widest/highest points; please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact details.

Q: What is the condition of this vintage pair?
A: Very Good vintage condition with minor marks on the hardware. The silver remains shiny with light surface scratches consistent with gentle wear.

Q: Do sterling silver earrings tarnish? How should I care for them?
A: Sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time, especially with exposure to chlorine, bleach, salt air and sulphur. Wear them regularly, store them dry in a soft pouch, and clean with a dedicated silver polish and cloth; rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals and remove before swimming or showering.

Q: Are these suitable for sensitive ears?
A: They are 925 sterling silver (92.5% silver alloy). Many people with sensitivities wear sterling silver comfortably, but nickel allergy is common and reactions vary by individual. The 925 mark confirms silver purity, not the complete alloy mix. If you have a known nickel allergy or very sensitive ears, consider testing wear time gradually or opting for solid gold or platinum.

Q: Can Tiffany service or polish these, or replace a lost single?
A: Tiffany offers professional cleaning, polishing and repairs for their pieces. Replacement of a single earring may be possible subject to availability and assessment by Tiffany Client Care.

Q: Where were these made?
A: This specific pair is labelled Italy. Tiffany notes that this model has been produced in more than one country over time, including Italy and the United States, depending on the production run.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: As listed, no accessories are included. Everything provided is stated in the Accessories section; if a pouch, box or spare backs are not listed, they are not included.

Q: Any tips to keep hook earrings secure during wear?
A: You may add small clear silicone stoppers to the hooks for extra security, especially when commuting or during light activity. Remove earrings before vigorous exercise and store them in a pouch when not in use.
