Q: What does the Triomphe motif represent on this necklace?
A: The Triomphe emblem is inspired by the ornate chain links surrounding Paris’s Arc de Triomphe and became one of Céline’s defining house codes in the early 1970s. This charm necklace features multiple motifs including the Triomphe, celebrating that heritage.

Q: How does the 40 cm length fit?
A: 40 cm is approximately 16 inches and typically sits as a close-fitting choker at the base of the neck. Fit varies by neck size, so we recommend measuring your neck circumference and allowing a little ease for comfort.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: This piece is designed with a fixed length of approximately 40 cm and a front toggle closure. If you prefer extra length, a short extender can be added by a jeweller or via a removable extender chain; shortening should be done professionally to preserve the original finish.

Q: Is the toggle clasp secure for everyday wear?
A: Toggle clasps are secure when correctly sized and fastened—the weight of the chain and charms helps keep the bar seated in the ring. Ensure the bar passes fully through the ring and lies perpendicular. For vigorous activity, we recommend removing the necklace as a precaution.

Q: What materials are typical for vintage Céline jewellery like this?
A: Most vintage Céline jewellery was crafted in gold‑plated base metal with a quality, weighty feel. Hallmarks often include a CELINE PARIS signature and a country/date stamp on the reverse of a charm or near the clasp.

Q: Can I shower, swim or exercise while wearing it?
A: We recommend removing gold‑plated jewellery before showering, swimming, applying fragrances/lotions, or exercising. Water, soaps, chlorine, salt and perspiration can dull or wear the plating prematurely and may accelerate surface scratches.

Q: How should I clean and store this necklace?
A: Wipe after wear with a soft, dry cloth. For a deeper clean, briefly use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, then rinse and dry thoroughly—avoid soaking and avoid harsh chemicals or polishing pastes. Store in a soft pouch, separate from other pieces to minimise friction on the plating.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin or nickel allergies?
A: Because this is vintage fashion jewellery, we cannot guarantee it is nickel‑free. If you have sensitive skin, limit prolonged contact, wear over clothing when possible, and consider a clear jewellery‑barrier product on areas that touch the skin. Discontinue wear if irritation occurs.

Q: What is the condition and what is included?
A: Condition is Very Good with hardware that is shiny and shows light surface scratches consistent with careful wear. Everything included is listed under Product information; if an item such as a box or dust bag is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Can the gold finish be refreshed in future?
A: Yes. Many professional jewellers offer re‑plating services for loved vintage pieces. Frequency depends on wear and care; removing before water, fragrance and lotions will help extend the life of the finish.
