Q: Is this pair authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What is it made from? Is the metal solid silver or are the stones diamonds?
A: Chanel costume jewellery is typically crafted from plated base metal in a silver‑tone finish, set with rhinestone crystals and a faux (imitation) pearl. It is not solid sterling silver and the stones are not diamonds. If you’d like us to confirm any specific composition details for this pair, just ask and we’ll review the piece for you.

Q: Which collection is it from, and is the mismatched design intentional?
A: This pair is from Chanel’s 2019 Cruise Collection and features an intentionally mismatched star and heart motif, each with the interlocking CC logo for a playful, collectible look.

Q: What are the measurements and how will they sit on the ear?
A: Each earring is listed at approximately 2.7 cm (height) x 1.2 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (depth). They offer a noticeable yet wearable presence on the lobe. If you’d like the precise gram weight or a photo on model for scale, message us and we’ll provide it.

Q: Are they for pierced ears or clip‑on?
A: They feature a push‑back (butterfly) fastening for pierced ears. If you prefer extra security, you can add a small silicone stopper behind the butterfly back.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on Chanel earrings?
A: Most Chanel costume earrings have an oval or round cartouche on the reverse stamped CHANEL, often with a season code and year (for example, “C 19” indicating Cruise 2019), and sometimes “Made in France/Italy”. Placement and format vary by season; our listing photos show any stamps present on this pair.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears? Are they nickel‑free?
A: Fashion jewellery alloys and platings may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider using hypoallergenic earring backs, applying a clear barrier product on the post, and limiting wear time. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones, faux pearl and silver‑tone finish?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, hairspray, lotions, hand sanitiser and cleaning chemicals. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth; use a dry cotton bud around stone settings. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store individually in a pouch/box to prevent scratches and to minimise friction that can loosen stones or dull the plating.

Q: Can they be repaired or replated if the finish wears or a stone loosens?
A: A competent jeweller can often tighten or replace butterfly backs, secure settings, or perform gentle replating on plated costume pieces. Chanel boutiques may offer service at their discretion. Any modification can affect originality and resale value—ask us for reputable specialists if needed.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: This pair is in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes no accessories (no box or authenticity card unless specifically shown). Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
