Q: What are these earrings made of?
A: They are crafted in black resin with purple glitter and crystal embellishments, set with silver‑tone hardware in a shooting‑star motif featuring a central CC logo. This pair is from the 2017 collection.

Q: Are they for pierced ears?
A: Yes. They feature a post‑back closure with standard friction clutches. You can swap to larger comfort backs if you prefer extra support.

Q: How big are they and how do they feel on the ear?
A: Approx. 2 cm high × 3.2 cm wide × 1.5 cm deep. Resin construction tends to feel lighter than all‑metal statement styles, but comfort varies by wearer. If your lobes are sensitive, consider using larger comfort backs or lobe‑support patches.

Q: Are they hypoallergenic or nickel‑free?
A: Chanel costume jewellery typically uses plated base metals and is not guaranteed nickel‑free. If you have a known nickel sensitivity, limit wear time, use barrier products or alternative clutches, and opt for nickel‑free pieces for daily wear.

Q: How should I care for resin and crystal‑set Chanel earrings?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, lotions, and hairspray. Put them on last and take them off first. After wearing, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth and store them separately in a pouch or box. Do not soak, use alcohol, or ultrasonic cleaners, as moisture can affect crystal settings and foils.

Q: Can I wear them in the shower or while swimming?
A: No. Water, steam, and humidity can dull the finish and loosen crystal settings. Always remove before bathing, swimming, or exercising.

Q: How can I tell the season or year of Chanel earrings?
A: Many Chanel earrings have a small plaque or stamp on the reverse with CHANEL, Made in France/Italy, and a seasonal code (for example, 17A, 17P, 17C for 2017). Placement and format vary by model. We’re happy to share close‑up photos of the hallmark on request.

Q: What is included with this pair?
A: The earrings only. No additional accessories, box, or pouch are included unless stated otherwise on this page.

Q: Can Chanel replace a missing crystal or perform repairs on costume earrings?
A: Service availability for past‑season costume jewellery varies by boutique and region and cannot be guaranteed. Many qualified jewellery workshops can replace clutches or secure crystals; contact us if you’d like guidance.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate these earrings?
A: Every piece is examined by our in‑house experts using a multi‑point process that reviews materials, construction, stamps and plaques, hardware and closures, and overall workmanship. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.
