Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Wallet On Chain?
A: With approximate measurements of 19 × 13 × 5 cm, it comfortably holds a smartphone, notes, coins, 6+ cards using the built‑in slots, a key and a lipstick. For best capacity, use the integrated card slots rather than adding a separate wallet, and avoid overfilling to keep the shape crisp.

Q: Will it fit an iPhone Pro Max (or similar large phone)?
A: Many owners find large phones can fit when placed horizontally and without a bulky case. Fit varies by model and case thickness, so we recommend comparing your device dimensions to the measurements on this page and, if in doubt, asking our team for an exact check.

Q: How can I wear it and what is the strap drop?
A: The interwoven chain‑and‑leather strap allows crossbody or on‑shoulder wear, and the bag can also be carried as a clutch by tucking the strap inside. The drop on this piece is approximately 62 cm, which suits most heights for crossbody styling.

Q: Is the chain adjustable?
A: The chain is not adjustable from the factory. Some users temporarily shorten it by tucking the chain under the flap or using a discreet clip; if you do this, take care not to mark the leather and avoid over‑tightening any knots.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: Classic WOC layouts typically include 6 card slots, a central open compartment, a zipped pocket, a long zipped compartment under the flap, and an external slip pocket. This item also has a press‑stud flap closure as shown in the product photos.

Q: Is it suitable for travel and does it fit a passport?
A: For minimal travel, a standard passport usually fits in the long zipped compartment or main section, along with essential cards and a phone. If carrying multiple passports or extras, capacity will be tight—pack flat items and avoid bulky cases.

Q: When was this piece produced?
A: The serial number 23647657 places it in the 23‑series, produced around 2016–2017, prior to Chanel’s move to embedded microchips in 2021.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this piece, it includes a dust bag and a serial number tag.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and serials. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to share further details on request.

Q: How should I care for the quilted leather?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth; keep away from oils, moisture and prolonged direct sunlight; and store it stuffed in its dust bag with the chain tucked to avoid imprints. Avoid overfilling, which can strain the press‑stud and seams.
