Q: Are these earrings for pierced ears?
A: No. They feature clip-on backs, so they’re ideal for non‑pierced ears and can also be worn by those with piercings who prefer a clip fit.

Q: How comfortable are they to wear and can the fit be adjusted?
A: Clip-ons should feel snug, not painful. Many clips can be gently tightened or loosened at the hinge or screw for a better fit. Adding small silicone/foam comfort pads can reduce pressure and improve grip. If you’re unsure, a jeweller can adjust them for you.

Q: Do they feel heavy on the ear?
A: These are statement drops measuring approximately 6 cm in height and 2 cm in width. They have presence and may feel weightier than small studs. For longer wear, ensure a comfortable tension and consider comfort pads or short breaks.

Q: What are they made of?
A: Vintage Christian Lacroix earrings are typically crafted in gold‑tone (gilt or gold‑plated) metal rather than solid gold. This pair features a drop design with star and heart charms and clip-on backs, crafted in a yellow gold‑tone finish.

Q: How should I care for gold‑tone vintage jewellery?
A: Avoid moisture, perfume, hairspray and lotions; wipe after wear with a soft dry cloth; never use harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners or abrasive polishing; and store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined box to prevent scratches and preserve the finish.

Q: Will the gold‑tone finish wear over time?
A: Plated and gilt finishes can show wear with regular use. You can prolong the colour by keeping the earrings dry, applying fragrance before putting them on, storing them separately, and wiping them clean after each wear.

Q: Are these signed and how do you authenticate them?
A: Many Lacroix pieces carry signature plaques or CL script marks and were produced in France. Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully authenticated by our in‑house experts; please refer to the product images and product information for stamps and details specific to this pair.

Q: Can clip-on earrings be converted to pierced backs?
A: In many cases a professional jeweller can add posts to clip-ons, but this permanently alters the piece and may affect its collectability. We recommend enjoying them as clip-ons unless you’re comfortable with the modification.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears or nickel allergies?
A: Because vintage fashion jewellery often uses base metals beneath the plating, we cannot guarantee that this piece is nickel‑free. If you’re sensitive, try short wear times and soft pads to reduce metal contact, or consider hypoallergenic options.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: The earrings themselves. Everything included is listed in the product information section; if something isn’t listed there, it is not included.
