Q: What typically fits inside the Neverfull PM?
A: As the smallest Neverfull, it comfortably holds daily essentials such as a long wallet, smartphone, keys, a small cosmetics pouch, sunglasses, a compact umbrella and a small tablet or e‑reader. Capacity varies with how you pack and whether you use an organiser—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Will it fit A4 documents or a 13-inch laptop?
A: No. The PM size is generally too compact for A4 folders or a 13-inch laptop to sit flat. Slim A5 notebooks and small tablets fit well; larger tech is better suited to the MM size.

Q: Is the PM comfortable on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The dual flat straps are designed for shoulder carry. On this piece the strap drop is approximately 18 cm, which sits well over light layers. The straps are not adjustable and there is no long crossbody strap.

Q: Does this bag come with a removable pouch?
A: This specific listing is sold with no accessories, as noted under Accessories. Louis Vuitton added a detachable zipped pochette to most Neverfull totes from around 2014 onward; earlier, vintage examples like this one often did not include it.

Q: What does the date code MB1078 mean?
A: MB indicates production in France. With this code format, the 1st and 3rd digits show the production week and the 2nd and 4th show the year. MB1078 corresponds to week 17 of 2008 in France.

Q: What are the materials and how do I care for Damier Ebene?
A: The exterior is Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas, valued for being lightweight and hard‑wearing. The dark brown Damier Ebene leather trim and handles are treated, making them more resistant to water marks than untreated vachetta leather. Wipe canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth; avoid alcohol, harsh cleaners and leather conditioners on the canvas. Keep leather away from prolonged moisture and heat. Store loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag to maintain shape.

Q: How does the PM compare to MM and GM?
A: PM (Petit Modèle) is the most compact and ideal for essentials; MM (Moyen Modèle) is the popular everyday work tote that fits most laptops; GM (Grande Modèle) is the largest and suited to travel. If you need to carry documents or a laptop daily, consider MM; for a light, tidy carry, PM is perfect.

Q: How does the closure work and is it secure?
A: The Neverfull features an open top with a central clasp and adjustable side laces to cinch the silhouette. Inside, there is a zipped pocket for valuables. For extra organisation and security, many users add a lightweight bag organiser or keep small items in a pouch.

Q: Is the red striped lining original to Damier Ebene versions?
A: Yes. Many Damier Ebene Neverfulls feature a heritage‑inspired striped textile lining. This piece has a red striped lining, with minor marks noted in the Condition section, consistent with gentle use.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every piece at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point checks by our in‑house experts, including materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and date codes. We stand behind the authenticity of all items and can share additional details or photos on request.
