Q: What defines the Rolex Lady-Datejust 26mm Ref. 179174?
A: Produced in 2006, this Reference 179174 is a sophisticated modern classic. It features a petite 26mm Oyster case crafted from stainless steel paired with an 18ct white gold fluted bezel—a combination Rolex calls White Rolesor. This specific example is distinguished by its stunning Mother-of-Pearl dial with Roman numeral hour markers and is fitted on the iconic Jubilee bracelet.

Q: What makes the Mother-of-Pearl dial special?
A: Mother-of-Pearl is a natural material derived from shells, celebrated for its unique iridescent sheen. Because it is an organic material, the natural pattern and colour nuances of every dial are unique, ensuring that no two watches are exactly the same.

Q: Is the watch automatic or quartz?
A: This model is powered by the Rolex Calibre 2235, a COSC-certified self-winding automatic movement. It relies on the natural motion of your wrist to wind the mainspring and does not require a battery. It also features a Quickset date function for easy adjustment.

Q: Does it have a scratch-resistant crystal?
A: Yes, this 2006 model is equipped with a synthetic sapphire crystal, which is highly resistant to scratches. It also features the signature Cyclops lens at the 3 o'clock position to magnify the date display.

Q: Is the watch water-resistant?
A: While the Oyster case was originally rated for water resistance up to 100 metres, we cannot guarantee the seals on a pre-owned watch from 2006 without a current pressure test. We strongly recommend treating the watch as splash-resistant only and avoiding swimming or showering with it.

Q: Will this watch fit my wrist?
A: This timepiece is sized to fit a wrist circumference of up to 17cm. The Jubilee bracelet is designed for comfort and can be adjusted by removing links for a smaller fit. Please note that no additional links are included.

Q: What is the condition of this specific piece?
A: The watch is in Very Good condition. It displays light traces of use appropriate for its age, with shiny hardware and some scratches visible on the case and bracelet.

Q: What comes with the watch?
A: This purchase includes the watch and its original certificate. Please note that the original box is not included, but the item will be shipped in secure packaging.

Q: Is there a warranty?
A: Yes, A Retro Tale provides a 12-month warranty covering the mechanical function of the movement. We also guarantee the authenticity of every item we sell.
