Q: What is the Rolex Lady-Datejust 26mm Ref. 69173 (1993)?
A: It’s a classic two‑tone Rolex combining stainless steel and 18ct yellow gold, with a 26mm Oyster case, fluted bezel, pink dial with Roman numerals, date at 3 o’clock under the Cyclops lens, and a Jubilee bracelet. Elegant yet versatile, it suits everyday wear and dressier occasions.

Q: Which movement does it use, and does it have a quickset date?
A: Lady‑Datejust 69173 models from the early 1990s typically house the automatic Rolex Calibre 2135, featuring a quickset date. Exact calibre can vary; we’re happy to verify the movement in this specific watch on request.

Q: Is it water‑resistant, and can I swim with it?
A: The Oyster case was originally rated to 100 metres, but water resistance on vintage watches cannot be guaranteed without recent servicing and pressure testing. Avoid swimming or showering unless the gaskets have been replaced and it has been professionally tested. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before any contact with moisture.

Q: Does it have a sapphire crystal and the Cyclops magnifier?
A: Most early‑1990s Lady‑Datejust 69173 models feature a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with Rolex’s Cyclops lens over the date. We can confirm the crystal type on this exact watch upon request.

Q: How do I set the time and date safely?
A: Unscrew the crown anti‑clockwise. Position 1: wind the watch (about 20–30 turns if it has stopped). Position 2: quickset the date. Position 3: set the time. Avoid changing the date between roughly 8pm and 2am. When finished, push the crown in and screw it down firmly to help maintain water resistance.

Q: What are the materials and bracelet details?
A: This two‑tone configuration pairs stainless steel with 18ct yellow gold. The fluted bezel is in 18ct yellow gold, and the Jubilee bracelet combines steel with 18ct yellow‑gold centre links for comfort and a signature Rolex look. Case depth is approximately 11mm.

Q: Will it fit my wrist, and can the bracelet be resized?
A: The bracelet is sized to approximately 17.5cm as listed. We can size the Jubilee bracelet prior to dispatch, and additional links can often be sourced (subject to availability). Share your wrist measurement and we’ll advise the best fit.

Q: How does the 26mm Lady‑Datejust compare to the later 28mm?
A: Rolex eventually moved from 26mm to 28mm for Lady‑Datejust models. The 26mm wears smaller with a distinctly vintage elegance, while the 28mm offers a slightly larger dial and modern presence. Choice comes down to wrist size and style preference.

Q: How can I confirm the reference and production year?
A: The reference is typically stamped between the lugs at 12 o’clock and the serial at 6 o’clock (the bracelet must be removed). Many 1993 pieces carry an “S”‑prefix serial. A Retro Tale can verify these details for you and provide close‑up photos on request.

A: This listing is delivered with box and outer box as stated. A Retro Tale rigorously authenticates every item and guarantees 100% originality. All watches include a 12‑month mechanical guarantee.
