Q: What exactly is Rolex reference 69174?
A: It is a Lady‑Datejust with a 26 mm stainless‑steel Oyster case, an 18 ct white‑gold fluted bezel, and typically a Jubilee bracelet. This example features a blue dial with date and an automatic movement.

Q: What year is this watch and what does the W‑serial mean?
A: The serial number beginning with “W” places production around 1995. The listed serial W191677 aligns with that period.

Q: Does this model have a quickset date and how do I set it safely?
A: Yes. Calibre 2135 features a quickset date. Unscrew the crown; position 1 winds the watch, position 2 changes the date, and position 3 sets the time. As a precaution on vintage pieces, avoid using the quickset between roughly 8 pm and 4 am when the date mechanism may be engaged.

Q: What movement is inside and what is the power reserve?
A: It uses Rolex’s automatic calibre 2135 (ladies’ Datejust movement) with a power reserve of about 42 hours and a rapid‑set date.

Q: Is the fluted bezel really white gold?
A: Yes. On steel Datejust references like 69174, the fluted bezel is crafted in 18 ct white gold, which gives a distinct lustre versus steel.

Q: What luminous material does a 1995 Lady‑Datejust use, and will it still glow?
A: Dials from this era were generally tritium, often marked “T Swiss T” or similar. Tritium lume on vintage pieces typically no longer glows strongly and may show a warm patina; some service replacements use Luminova/Super‑LumiNova, which will glow when charged.

Q: Is the crystal sapphire and does it have the Cyclops magnifier?
A: Yes, the 69174 is fitted with a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with the Cyclops lens over the date.

Q: What is the water‑resistance, and can I swim with it?
A: The Oyster case design is rated to 100 metres when factory‑sealed. Because this is a 1995 watch, water resistance is not guaranteed without recent pressure‑testing and fresh gaskets; we recommend avoiding swimming or showering unless the watch has been tested and certified watertight by a qualified watchmaker.

Q: What wrist size will it fit, and can the bracelet be adjusted?
A: As offered, it fits up to a 16 cm wrist and includes three extra links. The Jubilee bracelet can be sized by adding/removing links and using clasp micro‑adjustments; any competent watchmaker or jeweller can assist.

Q: What does “full set” mean here?
A: It indicates the watch is accompanied by its original presentation items. Please see the product information on this page for the exact contents (box, certificate, booklets, card holder, pouch, and extra links are listed for this piece).

Q: Is 26 mm discontinued, and how does it compare with current models?
A: Yes. Rolex replaced the 26 mm Lady‑Datejust with a 28 mm version introduced in 2015. The 26 mm wears more compact and classic; many collectors appreciate its elegant proportions, especially on the Jubilee bracelet.
