Q: What are the key features of the Breitling Superocean 44?
A: Stainless steel case (44 mm), turquoise dial, black unidirectional bezel with a ceramic inlay, cambered sapphire crystal with anti‑reflective treatment on both sides, automatic chronometer movement (Breitling Calibre 17), and water resistance to 300 m/1000 ft. Swiss made.

Q: Is it suitable for diving, swimming and surfing?
A: Yes. With 300 m water resistance, screw‑locked crown and a unidirectional bezel, it is ideal for recreational diving and all water‑based activities. Before entering the water, ensure the crown is fully screwed down; after salt or chlorinated water, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it. Avoid saunas or hot tubs, as rapid temperature changes can compromise seals over time.

Q: Which movement does it use and how accurate is it?
A: It uses the Breitling Calibre 17 (self‑winding, 26 jewels, 28,800 vph) with an approximate 38‑hour power reserve. As a COSC‑certified chronometer, typical accuracy is within −4/+6 seconds per day under test conditions.

Q: How does the 44 mm case wear on the wrist?
A: Despite its 44 mm diameter, the watch is relatively slim (approx. 12.62 mm) with a compact lug‑to‑lug of about 50.54 mm, aiding comfort and balance. It weighs around 183 g on the stainless‑steel bracelet (watch head approx. 90.5 g). This specific piece fits a 20 cm wrist or smaller and includes two extra links.

Q: Does the bracelet/clasp allow quick on‑the‑fly adjustment?
A: Yes. The folding clasp offers micro‑adjustments of up to 15 mm, useful for fine sizing or wearing over a rash vest or wetsuit. We can size the bracelet prior to dispatch on request.

Q: Is the bezel scratch‑resistant?
A: The bezel features a ceramic inlay that is highly resistant to scratches and fading. As with any watch, avoid hard impacts to keep the bezel and case looking their best.

Q: What strap size does this model take?
A: The lug width is 22 mm. It accepts Breitling’s rubber straps and the original stainless‑steel bracelet, as well as quality third‑party 22 mm straps. For frequent water use, we recommend rubber or stainless steel over leather.

Q: How often should I service or pressure‑test the watch?
A: For active water use, have the water resistance checked periodically (around every 1–2 years). Breitling generally recommends routine maintenance roughly every 2 years and a complete service about every 4–6 years, performed by authorised service centres.
