Q: What is the Cartier Santos Ronde 33mm ca 1995 (Ref. 1561)?
A: It’s a vintage, Swiss‑made Cartier with a 33mm round stainless‑steel case and matching bracelet, a white dial with black Roman numerals, blued‑steel hands, a date window at 3 o’clock, and Cartier’s signature blue cabochon crown. Elegant and understated, it’s part of the Santos Ronde family from the mid‑1990s.

Q: Is the movement quartz or automatic?
A: Most Santos Ronde Ref. 1561 watches are Swiss quartz with a date complication, offering reliable, low‑maintenance timekeeping. If you’d like us to confirm the exact calibre inside this specific piece, please contact us and we’ll verify it for you.

Q: How do I set the time and date safely?
A: Gently pull the crown out to the first click to quickset the date. Pull to the second click to set the time, then push the crown back in firmly. Avoid changing the date between roughly 8pm and 2am to protect the mechanism.

Q: Is it water‑resistant and can I swim with it?
A: Many Cartier models of this era were rated for light water resistance when new, but on vintage watches it cannot be guaranteed without recent servicing and pressure testing. We recommend avoiding swimming, showering or submersion unless the seals have been replaced and the watch has been professionally tested. Always keep the crown fully pressed in.

Q: What wrist size does 33mm suit, and is it unisex?
A: 33mm offers a refined, compact presence that suits small to medium wrists and wears comfortably unisex depending on style preference. This bracelet currently fits a wrist up to approximately 15 cm; share your measurement if you’d like sizing advice.

Q: Can the bracelet be resized or swapped for a strap?
A: The steel bracelet can typically be adjusted by adding or removing links. Additional links may be sourced subject to availability. Strap conversion may be possible depending on the end‑link and lug configuration of this exact piece—contact us and we’ll advise on compatibility and fitting.

Q: What type of crystal does it use?
A: Most Santos Ronde models from this period feature a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal. We can confirm the crystal type on this specific watch upon request.

Q: What accuracy and service interval should I expect, and how long does the battery last?
A: A healthy Swiss quartz Cartier typically runs to within ±15–20 seconds per month. Battery life is usually around 2–3 years, varying with use and storage. We recommend having a professional replace the battery and inspect gaskets; a full service is generally needed less often, but consider it if you notice erratic timekeeping, moisture, or corrosion.

Q: What is included with this listing?
A: As stated, it is delivered with no accessories unless otherwise noted in the item’s Accessories section. If you need clarification or would like additional photos, please let us know.

Q: What is the condition, and can the scratches be polished?
A: Very good vintage condition with light traces of use and surface scratches on the case, case back and bracelet. Light professional refinishing can be arranged on request, though many collectors prefer preserving original lines and finishes.

Q: How do you verify authenticity and model details?
A: A Retro Tale professionally inspects and authenticates every item. We can help confirm the reference (1561), serial (C131916) and movement details, and provide additional photos on request for complete peace of mind.
