Q: Are these Chanel Rhinestone clip‑on earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from—are they real gold or diamonds?
A: Vintage Chanel fashion jewellery is typically crafted from gold‑tone plated base metal with glass/crystal rhinestones. This pair is described as gold‑toned with a rhinestone drop detail. It is not solid gold and the stones are not diamonds unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Q: How big are they and how will they sit when worn?
A: The earrings are listed at approximately 5 cm (height) x 2.2 cm (width) x 1.2 cm (depth). With a 5 cm overall height, the drop typically sits just below the earlobe on most wearers, offering a noticeable yet elegant swing. If you would like the exact gram weight or a photo on model for scale, just ask and we’ll provide it.

Q: Will clip‑ons stay on securely? Are they comfortable for all‑day wear?
A: Clip‑ons are designed to hold securely on the lobe. Comfort varies by ear shape and clip style; many wearers find them comfortable for several hours, especially with soft cushion pads. For extended wear, take short breaks, ensure the clip sits centrally on the lobe, and avoid tugging hairstyles or scarves that could pull on the earrings.

Q: Can I adjust the clip tension or improve comfort?
A: Yes—small silicone/foam comfort pads can reduce pressure and improve grip. Gentle tension adjustments are possible on some clip mechanisms, but over‑bending can weaken the clip. We recommend having any adjustment done by a competent jeweller to preserve the mechanism and finish.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive skin? Are they nickel‑free?
A: Fashion jewellery alloys may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider using clear barrier products on contact points or wear for shorter intervals. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: How should I clean and care for the gold‑tone finish and rhinestones?
A: Keep them dry and away from perfume, hairspray, lotions and hand sanitiser. After wear, wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For occasional cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with a drop of mild soap on the metal only; avoid soaking. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemical dips. Inspect periodically for any loosening of rhinestones and store separately in a soft pouch/box.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on vintage Chanel earrings?
A: Many vintage Chanel earrings feature an oval or round hallmark plaque stamped CHANEL, often with “Made in France/Italy” and, on certain eras, a season/date code. Placement and format vary by collection and year. Our close‑up photos show any stamps present on this piece.

Q: Can clip‑on Chanel earrings be converted to pierced posts?
A: Some jewellers can add posts or converters, but modifications may affect originality, structural integrity, and resale value. If conversion interests you, consult a specialist and feel free to ask us for non‑invasive options (e.g., clip‑to‑hook converters) that preserve the clip mechanism.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: These earrings are in Very Good Condition with gentle wear consistent with careful use unless noted otherwise. Accessories are not included unless specifically shown or listed—this item comes with no accessories. Returns are accepted under our standard policy; please ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
