Q: What is this brooch made of—is it solid gold?
A: It features gold‑tone hardware typical of Dior costume jewellery, which is a plated finish over a base metal rather than solid gold. To preserve the finish, avoid contact with perfumes, lotions and household chemicals, and store it separately to minimise scratches.

Q: How secure is the pin fastening and how can I wear it without damaging fabrics?
A: It uses a traditional pin fastening. For best results, wear it on sturdier textiles like wool, tweed, denim or coat lapels. On delicate fabrics such as silk or chiffon, add a small piece of fabric stabiliser or interfacing behind the area, or pin through a seam/lining. Always close the clasp fully and remove the brooch before storing the garment.

Q: What are the dimensions of this piece?
A: Approximately 4 × 3 × 0.5 cm. Please refer to the Measurements shown on this page for exact details.

Q: What does a Germany mark mean on Dior jewellery?
A: Many vintage Christian Dior pieces were produced in Germany under licence by Henkel & Grossé. Authentic hallmarks may read Christian Dior or Chr. Dior, sometimes with a © and year, and may include Germany. This aligns with the country of origin indicated for this piece.

Q: How do you authenticate this brooch?
A: Our in‑house experts examine materials, construction, and stamps/signatures against known period standards. For Dior jewellery, we look for correct hallmarks and overall quality consistent with vintage production. We stand behind the authenticity of every item we sell and can provide additional photos or details on request.

Q: Will the pin leave marks or snag my clothing?
A: Any pin can puncture fabric, but careful placement helps. Pin through thicker areas or double layers, avoid very fine knits, and consider a small backing on delicate textiles. After wear, gently steam or massage the area to relax minor pinholes.

Q: How should I clean and care for a gold‑tone brooch?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear. If needed, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Do not soak and avoid abrasive cloths, polishing compounds, dips or ultrasonic cleaners, as these can strip plating.

Q: Is this brooch unisex and how can I style it?
A: Yes—brooches are genderless. Style it on a blazer lapel, knit jumper, hat or scarf, or add it to a bag strap for a modern touch. It also layers well with other small pins.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this piece, it is noted that nothing additional is included.

Q: Can I convert it to a pendant or avoid piercing delicate fabrics?
A: You can use a third‑party brooch converter to wear it on a chain, or a magnetic backing to avoid piercing delicate materials. Ensure any converter fits the pin gauge and test over thicker fabric for security.
