Q: How does the Christian Dior Street Chic bag carry and what are the key measurements?
A: It is designed for hand or crook‑of‑arm carry with dual rolled leather handles. Approximate measurements are 34 cm (W) × 17 cm (H) × 15 cm (D) with a handle drop of 10 cm. The top zip keeps contents secure.

Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: Daily essentials such as a phone, compact wallet, keys, sunglasses and a small cosmetics pouch fit comfortably. A small tablet (for example, iPad mini–sized) can fit, but A4 documents and a 13‑inch laptop will not. Capacity depends on how you organise items; please refer to the Measurements shown on this page.

Q: Can it be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: This specific piece is a handheld style without a shoulder strap or strap attachments. It is intended to be carried by the handles or in the crook of the arm, as reflected in the product information.

Q: Is the monogram canvas the same as Dior “Trotter”, “Diorissimo” or “Oblique”?
A: Yes, the jacquard monogram on this piece is commonly called Trotter or Diorissimo on the resale market and is part of Dior’s Oblique family, a house motif introduced in the late 1960s. Terminology varies by era and seller, but the pattern is the same iconic Dior monogram.

Q: Which era is the Street Chic line from, and is it still produced?
A: Street Chic pieces are from the early 2000s (Y2K), including designs shown during John Galliano’s tenure. The line is discontinued and available today only as pre‑owned/vintage.

Q: Where would I find the date code on this model?
A: Dior date codes are typically embossed on the reverse of the interior leather brand tag or on a small leather tab inside a pocket. Codes combine letters and numbers to indicate factory and timing. Location and legibility can vary with age. If you’d like, we can share additional close‑ups of stamps or tags for this specific bag.

Q: How durable is the canvas and leather trim on this vintage piece?
A: Dior’s jacquard canvas is sturdy for daily use, but avoid abrasion and rough surfaces that could snag the weave. The leather trim can develop scuffs and watermarks over time—this piece already shows light marks on the base and corners as noted. Store lightly stuffed, away from direct sunlight and humidity, to maintain structure and colour.

Q: How should I clean and care for it?
A: For the canvas, gently dust with a soft brush, then spot‑clean with a lightly damp microfibre cloth and a drop of mild soap. Do not soak, rub aggressively or use harsh chemicals. For the leather trim, use a dedicated, neutral leather cleaner sparingly and always patch‑test first. For deep cleaning, we recommend a professional handbag care service.

Q: There is a light vintage smell—how can I reduce it safely?
A: Air the bag in a cool, dry, shaded place. Place odour‑absorbing sachets (for example, activated charcoal) inside for 24–72 hours; avoid spraying perfumes or saturating the materials. Repeat as needed and store with breathable stuffing to prevent odours returning.

Q: What is included with this item and how is authenticity handled?
A: As listed in the product information, no additional items are included. Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly inspected by in‑house specialists using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and model‑specific details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide further details or photos on request.
