Q: What are the key features of this Hermès Clipper Oval watch?
A: It is the Clipper Oval reference CO1.210 in stainless steel with a 22 mm oval case, studded bezel and black textured dial on an H‑link bracelet. It is Swiss made and vintage, offering a refined, compact wrist presence.

Q: What wrist size will it fit, and can the bracelet be adjusted?
A: It currently fits a wrist up to approximately 15 cm. The H‑link bracelet uses removable links, so a watchmaker can add or remove links to suit your wrist. Extra links can sometimes be sourced on the secondary market; please contact us if you need sizing advice before purchase.

Q: What movement does it use and how accurate is it?
A: The CO1.210 is powered by a Swiss quartz movement for reliable, low‑maintenance accuracy in daily wear. Many Clipper Oval models house compact Swiss ETA quartz calibres designed for small cases, but specific calibres can vary by production run.

Q: How often will the battery need replacing?
A: Typical quartz batteries last about 2–3 years in normal use. Some compact ETA quartz calibres are rated for significantly longer intervals in ideal conditions, but real‑world life varies with usage and environment. We recommend professional battery changes to protect the case seals.

Q: Is it water‑resistant? Can I shower or swim with it?
A: Clipper specifications vary by reference; many ladies’ quartz models were rated around 30 m when new. As this is a vintage piece and has not been pressure‑tested by us, water resistance cannot be guaranteed. We advise avoiding showering, swimming or submersion. If water resistance is important to you, have a watchmaker replace the gaskets and perform a pressure test after any service.

Q: What is included with this watch?
A: Everything that comes with the item is listed under the product information section on this page. If a box, papers or extra links are not listed there, they are not included.

Q: What is the condition?
A: Very good overall. There are scratches on the bezel and case back, and light surface marks on the case and bracelet consistent with careful wear. The movement is described as very good with light signs of use.

Q: What is the history of the Hermès Clipper line?
A: The Clipper collection was introduced in the early 1980s and is known for its nautical inspiration, notably the porthole‑style bezel with decorative studs—an aesthetic seen on this watch.

Q: Does A Retro Tale guarantee authenticity?
A: Yes. Every piece is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, dial and case details, stamps, and serials. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide further information on request.

Q: Any care tips for day‑to‑day wear?
A: Wipe the watch with a soft cloth after use, avoid contact with perfumes or solvents, store it dry, and keep it away from strong magnets. During battery changes, ask your watchmaker to check and replace gaskets and perform a water‑resistance test if you intend to expose it to moisture.
