Q: Is this Hermès Talisman Pegasus Feather Necklace authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What is it made from? Is it solid silver?
A: This is Hermès fashion jewellery in a silver‑tone finish. Fashion pieces from Hermès are typically crafted from plated base metal (often palladium/silver‑tone plating over brass) rather than solid sterling silver. Solid precious‑metal pieces are usually stamped with fineness marks such as “925” (silver) or “750” (18‑carat gold). Please review our close‑up photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm any stamp present on this necklace.

Q: What are the measurements and how will it sit when worn?
A: The chain perimeter is approximately 68 cm; the Pegasus feather pendant is about 1.6 × 1.6 × 0.2 cm. At ~68 cm, it reads as a long matinee/short opera length and typically sits mid‑ to lower chest on most wearers. If you’d like the precise drop length or chain width, message us and we’ll measure it for you.

Q: How does it fasten? Can the length be adjusted?
A: It features a lobster clasp with an engraved logo plaque. This model does not have factory adjustment rings; however, a jeweller can add a short extender or an extra jump ring to fine‑tune the drop if desired.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on Hermès jewellery?
A: Hermès pieces typically carry an HERMÈS signature and, depending on the model and era, may include a country‑of‑origin stamp (often “Made in France”) and, for precious‑metal items, fineness marks (e.g., 925 or 750). Placement varies—commonly on the clasp tag, pendant bail, or reverse of the motif. Our listing photos show any stamps present on this necklace.

Q: Is it nickel‑free and suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Fashion jewellery alloys can contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider wearing it over clothing, applying a clear barrier product to contact points, and keeping the area dry. Discontinue wear if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower, swimming, or to the gym?
A: We recommend removing Hermès jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, or applying perfume and lotions. Moisture, chlorinated/salt water, and cosmetics can accelerate wear to plated finishes and stress chains and clasps.

Q: How should I clean and store the silver‑tone finish?
A: After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Keep it dry and away from perfume, hairspray, hand sanitiser, and chemical dips. Do not soak or use ultrasonic cleaners. Store it individually in its box or a soft pouch, away from humidity and direct sunlight, to minimise scratches and preserve the finish.

Q: Can it be repaired or replated?
A: A competent jeweller can usually replace or adjust a clasp, add an extender, and perform careful replating if ever needed. We don’t offer in‑house modifications, but we can recommend reputable specialists. Note that alterations may affect originality and resale value.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return it?
A: This necklace is in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes a box. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes, and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
