Q: Are these Tiffany & Co Circle Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are they solid gold or plated?
A: This vintage pair is described as crafted in solid 18‑carat (18kt) yellow gold—fine jewellery from Tiffany is typically solid precious metal rather than plated. If you’d like us to confirm any aspect of the composition or hallmarks, just ask and we’ll share close‑ups.

Q: What are the measurements and how will they sit when worn?
A: They are listed at approximately 1.0 cm (height) x 1.0 cm (width) x 1.2 cm (depth). On the ear, they read as refined, everyday studs with a clean circle profile. If you’d like the exact gram weight or a photo on ear for scale, message us and we’ll provide it.

Q: How do they fasten and are the backs secure?
A: They use a post with push‑back (butterfly/friction) closure—common for Tiffany studs. Ensure the backs slide on with a snug feel; if they loosen over time, they can often be gently tightened or replaced. Some wearers prefer larger disc or locking backs for added support; we can recommend options.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears? Are they nickel‑free?
A: 18‑carat yellow gold alloys are generally well tolerated and typically contain little to no nickel, but sensitivities vary by individual and alloy. If you have known allergies, monitor comfort and discontinue wear if irritation occurs—platinum or titanium backs can offer an extra‑gentle alternative.

Q: Can I wear them in the shower, swimming or to sleep?
A: We recommend removing them before showering, swimming, exercising, applying lotions/perfume and before sleeping. Moisture, cosmetics and pillow pressure can dull the finish or stress posts and backs over time.

Q: What hallmarks should I expect on Tiffany 18kt earrings?
A: Look for the TIFFANY & CO. maker’s mark and a fineness stamp such as “750” or “Au750” indicating 18‑carat gold; some pieces also include a country of origin stamp. Our listing notes United States; our close‑up photos show any stamps present on this pair.

Q: How should I clean and care for 18‑carat yellow gold?
A: After wear, wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For a deeper clean, use mild soap in lukewarm water or a non‑abrasive gold jewellery cleaner, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals, hand sanitiser and ultrasonic cleaners. Store individually in a pouch/box to prevent scratches; periodic professional cleaning is recommended for regularly worn pieces.

Q: Can Tiffany replace a single lost earring or supply replacement backs?
A: Tiffany boutiques and Client Care may offer replacement backs and can sometimes replace a single earring, subject to availability and their current policies. Contact your local Tiffany store or Client Care for options and quotations, and we can provide any reference photos they request.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return it?
A: This pair is in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible. No accessories are included unless specifically shown or stated. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and return the item in the same condition received.
