Q: Are these Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti Open Heart Hoop Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What material are they made from?
A: These earrings are crafted from solid 925 sterling silver. They are part of the iconic Elsa Peretti Open Heart collection, known for its fluid, organic lines.

Q: What are the measurements and how big are they?
A: These are a statement size, measuring approximately 5 cm in width and 4 cm in height. The Open Heart design features a stylised, asymmetrical heart shape that loops through the ear for a bold, sculptural look.

Q: How do they fasten?
A: They feature a seamless “continuous hoop” or peg‑in‑hole closure. The post inserts directly into the hollow tubing of the earring body, creating a smooth, uninterrupted loop. To wear, gently flex the post away from the tube to open and guide it back in to secure.

Q: Are they heavy to wear?
A: Despite their larger scale, these hoops are crafted from hollow silver tubing, making them lighter and more comfortable than solid pieces of the same size. However, as statement earrings, they will have some presence on the lobe.

Q: What hallmarks should I expect?
A: Authentic Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. pieces are typically stamped with “TIFFANY & CO.”, the “Peretti” signature (sometimes in script), and “925” to indicate sterling silver. They may also bear a country of origin stamp such as “Spain” or “USA.”

Q: How should I care for these silver hoops?
A: Sterling silver can tarnish over time. Clean them gently with a soft silver polishing cloth to restore their shine. Avoid exposing them to perfume, hairspray, or swimming pools. When not in use, store them in a pouch or box to minimise oxidation and prevent the hollow tubing from being crushed.

Q: Can the shape be distorted?
A: Yes, because they are hollow hoops with a specific curve, they should be handled with care. Avoid squeezing them tightly or sleeping in them, as strong pressure could dent the tubing or distort the alignment of the closure.

Q: What condition should I expect and can I return them?
A: These earrings are in Very Good Condition, meaning they show only light signs of wear consistent with careful use. No accessories are included. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for full details and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
