Q: What does the Tiffany Crown Key design symbolise?
A: Tiffany Keys are widely associated with optimism, hope and a bright future. The Crown Key design is especially popular as a meaningful gift or milestone piece because it combines that symbolism with an elegant, timeless look.

Q: Is this necklace made from solid gold or is it gold-plated?
A: This piece is crafted in 18ct yellow gold and is set with round brilliant-cut diamonds. It is a fine jewellery piece rather than costume jewellery.

Q: Does this item include the chain?
A: Yes. This vintage listing includes the delicate chain shown in the product photos and it fastens with a spring ring clasp. Some Tiffany key pendants were originally sold separately from their chains, but this specific piece is offered as a complete necklace.

Q: What is the necklace length, and where will it sit when worn?
A: The listed necklace perimeter is 46 cm, which is roughly equivalent to an 18-inch chain. On many people this sits around the collarbone to upper chest area, although the exact drop will vary depending on neck size, height and styling preference.

Q: Is 46 cm a good length for everyday wear or layering?
A: Yes, 46 cm is a versatile length that works well for everyday wear and can also be layered with shorter or longer necklaces. If you like to stack necklaces, comparing 46 cm with a necklace you already own is the easiest way to judge how it will sit on you.

Q: What condition is this piece in?
A: It is listed in Very Good condition, with light traces of use. The metal remains shiny and shows light surface scratches consistent with gentle wear and its vintage nature.

Q: What product information is included with this necklace?
A: The listing states that a box is included. Unless any additional product information is specifically mentioned on the product page, you should assume only the photographed and described items are included.

Q: How should I care for vintage 18ct gold and diamond jewellery?
A: Store it separately to help prevent scratches, clean it gently with a soft cloth or a non-abrasive cleaner suitable for gold and diamonds, and avoid bleach, perfume, lotions, swimming pools and contact sports while wearing it. Occasional professional cleaning is also a good idea for stone-set jewellery.

Q: How is this Tiffany & Co. item authenticated?
A: Every item listed on A Retro Tale is authenticated by in-house experts through a two-step screening process. With vintage Tiffany jewellery, buyers also commonly look for quality craftsmanship, precise hallmarks and correct precious-metal markings as part of the overall assessment.
