Q: Are these Tiffany & Co Heart Silver Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are they solid silver or plated?
A: They are described as sterling silver (925), which is solid silver alloy—not silver‑plated. Tiffany sterling silver pieces are typically hallmarked with “TIFFANY & CO.” and “925” to indicate metal purity. Please review the close‑up photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm the exact stamps on this pair.

Q: What are the measurements and how will they sit when worn?
A: Each stud is listed at approximately 1.3 cm (height) x 1.3 cm (width) x 0.3 cm (depth). As heart‑shaped studs, they sit neatly on the earlobe with a classic, everyday presence. If you’d like the precise gram weight or a photo on‑ear for scale, just ask and we’ll provide it.

Q: What type of backs do they use and are they secure?
A: They feature post‑back (friction/push) closures—secure for daily wear when properly seated. For extra peace of mind, some wearers add small silicone stoppers. Our photos show the backs present on this pair; if you prefer fresh backs or need replacements, we can advise on compatible options.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears? Is there any nickel?
A: Sterling silver is 92.5% silver alloyed with about 7.5% other metals, most commonly copper. Many sterling silver pieces are generally nickel‑free, though sensitivities vary and mixed alloys can exist. If you have metal allergies, monitor comfort, keep the area dry, and discontinue wear if irritation occurs—we’re happy to advise further.

Q: Will sterling silver tarnish? How should I care for them?
A: Tarnish is a natural reaction for sterling silver. Keep the earrings dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and household chemicals. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre polishing cloth. For light tarnish, use a non‑abrasive silver polish/cloth, then rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly. Store individually in a pouch/box to minimise friction and exposure to air.

Q: Can I wear them in the shower, pool or at the gym?
A: We recommend removing sterling silver jewellery before showering, swimming (pools, hot tubs, sea) and exercising. Moisture, chlorine, salt and sweat can accelerate tarnish and dull the finish.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on Tiffany sterling silver earrings?
A: You typically see the TIFFANY & CO. signature and a metal fineness mark such as “925” for sterling silver; some pieces may also show a country of origin stamp depending on era. Placement varies (usually on the back or post). Our listing photos show any stamps present on this pair.

Q: Can Tiffany clean or polish these earrings? Can I replace the earring backs?
A: Tiffany boutiques offer on‑site cleaning; sterling silver cleanings are generally available for a fee, and polishing services can be requested. Tiffany also provides replacement earring backs. Availability and pricing are at Tiffany’s discretion—contact your local boutique for details.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: These earrings are in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes no accessories unless specifically shown or stated. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
