Q: Are these Chanel CC Flower Clip‑on Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials are they made from? Are they solid gold?
A: These earrings are vintage costume jewellery, crafted from gold‑plated metal with a rich yellow gold tone. They are not solid gold. Please review the close‑up photos to see the texture and finish of the floral design.

Q: What does “Season 28” mean? When were they made?
A: Chanel used a specific numbering system for their costume jewellery collections from the mid‑1980s to the early 1990s. “Season 28” dates this piece to approximately 1991–1992, making them a genuine vintage find from the early 90s era.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I look for?
A: Vintage Chanel jewellery from this era typically features an oval plaque on the back. For Season 28, you should expect to see the stamp “CHANEL 2 8 MADE IN FRANCE”, often with the CC logo in the centre. Our listing photos show the specific hallmarks present on this pair.

Q: How do they fasten? Are clip‑on earrings comfortable?
A: They feature a traditional paddle‑back clip‑on closure, making them suitable for non‑pierced ears. Vintage Chanel clips are renowned for their secure yet comfortable mechanism. If you find them tight, you can add small silicone comfort pads (not included) to cushion the lobe.

Q: What are the measurements and how big are they?
A: These earrings measure approximately 3 cm (height) x 3 cm (width). This size offers a classic statement look—substantial enough to be noticed but elegant enough for everyday wear.

Q: Is this jewellery suitable for sensitive skin?
A: Vintage gold‑plated alloys may contain nickel or other base metals. If you have metal sensitivities, we recommend testing them for short periods or using a clear jewellery shield product on the back. Discontinue wear if irritation occurs.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑plated finish?
A: Keep them dry and avoid direct contact with perfume, hairspray, and lotions. Wipe them gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth after each wear to remove oils. Store them separately in a pouch or box to prevent scratches and preserve the gold plating.

Q: What condition are they in and are accessories included?
A: These earrings are in Very Good Condition (Condition Rating 353326), meaning they may show light signs of wear consistent with their age. No accessories (such as the original box or dust bag) are included. Please refer to the images for a detailed view of their condition.

Q: Can I return them if they don’t suit me?
A: Returns are accepted under our standard policy. Please check our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes, and conditions. As these are vintage items, please ensure they are returned in the exact condition received.
