Q: Is this choker solid gold or gold-tone?
A: It is a Chanel fashion jewellery piece in a yellow gold-tone finish with crystal rhinestones. Chanel costume jewellery is typically crafted from non‑precious plated metals with glass or crystal stones, rather than solid gold or diamonds. With sensible care, the gold‑tone finish retains its shine over time.

Q: How does the choker fit and can it be adjusted?
A: The inner circumference is approximately 32 cm and the choker section measures about 10 cm in diameter. It secures with a lobster clasp and a short extender chain, allowing a close, tailored fit at the base of the neck. If you prefer extra room, a small necklace extender can be added by a jeweller or at home (not included).

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones and gold‑tone finish?
A: Apply perfume, hairspray and lotions before putting the piece on, and avoid prolonged exposure to humidity, heat and direct sunlight. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry, lint‑free cloth and store it separately in a pouch or box to prevent scratching. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemicals on costume jewellery.

Q: Can I clean the stones at home if they look dull?
A: Yes—use a dry, soft cloth to buff. If needed, very lightly dampen the cloth and wipe around the metal areas only, then dry immediately. Do not soak the necklace and avoid alcohol, acetone or abrasive cleaners, as moisture and solvents can loosen the adhesive behind rhinestones and cloud their surface.

Q: Is it safe to wear in the shower, pool or at the gym?
A: No. Water, sweat, chlorine and soaps can accelerate wear to plated finishes and may loosen glued stones. Remove the choker before bathing, swimming or exercising.

Q: Are the crystals replaceable if one is lost?
A: In most cases a professional jeweller familiar with costume jewellery can source and set a closely matched replacement stone and refresh adhesive where needed. For best results, avoid DIY superglues, which can fog stones and damage the finish.

Q: How can I identify Chanel hallmarks on necklaces like this?
A: Many Chanel necklaces feature an oval or circular signature plate near the clasp stamped CHANEL and the country of origin. From 1993 onward, most pieces include a two‑digit year and a season letter (A for Autumn, P for Spring, C for Cruise, V for continuous line). Stamp styles vary by era, and some authentic pieces may have different or missing plates.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section on this page. This piece is currently listed without extras such as a box or card.
