Q: Are these for pierced ears?
A: No. They are clip-on earrings with a hinged fastening that secures comfortably to the lobe without piercings.

Q: Are clip-on earrings comfortable for long wear?
A: Comfort varies by ear shape and weight tolerance. As a dangling, statement style, these have some presence. For added comfort, use silicone or foam clip cushions and give your ears short breaks during extended wear.

Q: Can the clip tension be adjusted?
A: We recommend only a professional jeweller makes any tension adjustments to avoid stressing vintage hardware. Cushion pads are a simple, non-invasive way to reduce pressure on the lobe.

Q: Can these be converted to pierced earrings?
A: Some jewellers offer conversions, but feasibility depends on the construction. Converting may alter the structure and can affect future collectability or resale value. A Retro Tale does not provide a conversion service for this piece.

Q: What materials are they made from?
A: Chanel costume jewellery commonly uses gold‑tone base metal with glass rhinestones and imitation pearls. This pair features multi‑coloured rhinestones, orange beads and a faux pearl drop, as described in the product information.

Q: How should I care for the rhinestones and faux pearls?
A: Keep away from water, perfume and hairspray. Do not soak or submerge. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth; if needed, very sparingly use a slightly damp cotton swab on the metal areas only while holding the piece face down so moisture doesn’t sit behind stones. Store separately in a dry pouch.

Q: Can missing stones or clip pads be replaced?
A: Yes. An experienced jeweller can colour‑match and reset rhinestones, and replacement comfort pads/sleeves are widely available. For longevity, we recommend professional repairs rather than DIY on vintage pieces.

Q: How do I know they are authentic Chanel?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated using multi‑point checks of materials, construction and Chanel stamping conventions. Many Chanel earrings bear oval or circular plaques noting season and origin. We guarantee the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: What condition notes should I be aware of?
A: Very Good overall. There is a minor mark on the pearl and light surface scratches to the gold‑tone hardware. Please review the photos and product information for full details.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: This piece is sold as pictured. Everything included is listed in the product information on this page. If a branded box or pouch is not listed there, it is not included.
