Q: What is the Rolex Lady-Datejust 26mm Ref. 179174 (2013)?
A: It’s a classic Rolex Datejust in the 26mm “lady” size, with an automatic movement, Oyster case, date window with Cyclops magnifier, and an elegant pink Roman‑numeral dial. The compact 26mm proportion suits smaller wrists and a refined, understated look.

Q: Which movement does this reference typically use and what is the power reserve?
A: Most Lady-Datejust 26mm models from this era house the Rolex Calibre 2235 automatic (self‑winding) movement with a quickset date. Typical power reserve is around 45–48 hours. If you’d like us to verify the exact calibre in this piece, please ask.

Q: Does the Ref. 179174 have a white gold bezel?
A: The 179174 is commonly configured in stainless steel with an 18 ct white gold fluted bezel. Specifications can vary by dial/bracelet configuration; please check the photos and listing details or contact us to confirm on this exact watch.

Q: Is it water‑resistant, and can I swim with it?
A: The Oyster case was originally rated to 100 metres, but water resistance on pre‑owned/vintage watches is not guaranteed without recent servicing and pressure testing. We recommend avoiding swimming or showering unless the watch has been freshly re‑sealed and tested by an authorised watchmaker. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before any contact with moisture.

Q: How do I set the time and date on a Lady-Datejust?
A: Unscrew the crown anti‑clockwise. Position 1: manual wind (about 20–30 turns if stopped). Position 2: quickset the date. Position 3: set the time. Avoid changing the date between roughly 8pm and 2am to protect the mechanism. Push the crown in and screw it down firmly when finished.

Q: Will it fit my wrist, and can the bracelet be resized?
A: This piece fits up to approximately 16 cm as listed. We can size the bracelet for you, and additional links may be sourced subject to availability and cost. Share your wrist measurement and we’ll advise.

Q: Does it have a sapphire crystal and Cyclops magnifier?
A: Lady-Datejust models of this period typically feature a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with the Cyclops date magnifier. If you’d like exact confirmation for this watch, we’re happy to provide it.

Q: What accuracy and service interval should I expect?
A: A well‑maintained Rolex automatic should keep time close to period COSC standards, though performance varies with age and service history. Most specialists recommend servicing every 5–10 years, or sooner if timekeeping or water resistance is a concern. Service history on this example is unknown; it is currently running well and comes with our 12‑month mechanical guarantee.

Q: What is included with this watch, and is it authentic?
A: This example is delivered as a full set: original box, certificate, hang tags, booklet and outer box. A Retro Tale specialises in authentic luxury vintage accessories and professionally authenticates every piece; we guarantee 100% authenticity.

Q: Is the 26mm Lady-Datejust still produced, and how does it compare to the 28mm?
A: Rolex later replaced the 26mm size with 28mm, which offers a slightly larger dial and more modern presence. The 26mm wears smaller and vintage‑classic; choice depends on wrist size and style preference.
