Q: Are these Céline Rhinestone Clip‑On Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are they real gold?
A: Céline fashion jewellery earrings are typically crafted from gold‑tone plated base metal (often brass) with glass rhinestones. They are not solid gold unless explicitly stated. This pair features gold‑toned hardware with rhinestone embellishments and an engraved logo. If you’d like us to confirm any specific composition details, contact us and we’ll check the piece for you.

Q: What are the measurements and how noticeable will they look when worn?
A: They are listed at approximately 2 cm (height) x 2 cm (width) x 0.7 cm (depth). This compact, domed profile gives a refined sparkle on the lobe without feeling bulky. If you’d like the exact gram weight or a photo on ear for scale, let us know and we’ll provide it.

Q: Do I need pierced ears, and how secure/comfortable is the clip‑on closure?
A: No piercings are required—the clip‑on backs secure the earrings to the earlobe. For comfort and a firmer hold, you can add clear silicone cushion pads or gently adjust the clip tension (very small tweaks by a jeweller are recommended). If you experience pinching, take short breaks and reposition the clips for circulation.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive skin? Are they nickel‑free?
A: Fashion jewellery can contain nickel in its alloy or plating, though modern regulations limit nickel release. If you have sensitivities, we recommend using comfort pads, applying a clear barrier at contact points, and discontinuing wear if irritation occurs. Contact us for further guidance.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on vintage Céline earrings?
A: Vintage Céline costume jewellery often bears a CELINE or CELINE PARIS signature/engraving on the reverse or front motif; placement and styling vary by era. Our listing photos show any engravings present on this pair. Feel free to ask if you’d like us to point out the exact stamp locations.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone plating and rhinestones?
A: Keep the earrings dry and away from perfume, hairspray, lotions, hand sanitiser and cleaning chemicals. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth; use a dry cotton bud around stone settings. Avoid soaking, ultrasonic cleaners and abrasive polishes—moisture can migrate behind foil‑backed stones and dull plating. Store them individually in a pouch/box, away from humidity and direct sunlight.

Q: Can they be repaired, replated, or have stones replaced?
A: A competent jeweller can often tighten/adjust clips, re‑secure rhinestones, and perform light replating of worn areas. Any modification may affect originality and resale value. We don’t offer in‑house alterations, but we can recommend reputable specialists on request.

Q: Can clip‑ons be converted to posts for pierced ears?
A: In many cases, yes—jewellers can fit posts or lever‑backs depending on the construction. Conversion should be done professionally to protect the settings and finish. Note that alterations can change the look and impact collectability; please consult us before proceeding.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: This pair is in Very Good Condition, with light signs of careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes no accessories unless specifically shown or stated. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
