Q: How long is this necklace and how will it sit when worn?
A: The chain measures approximately 90 cm, giving a long, elegant drop that typically sits around the mid‑chest on most wearers. It can be styled as a single long strand or lightly layered with shorter chains for contrast.

Q: Can the length be adjusted or doubled?
A: The necklace has a clasp closure but no built‑in adjustment stations. Some wearers choose to double‑wrap 90 cm chains for a layered look, depending on neck size and comfort. Permanent resizing by removing links is possible through a professional jeweller, but it will alter the original design and is at the owner’s discretion.

Q: What is it made of?
A: Céline fashion jewellery is typically crafted from brass with a gold‑tone or gold‑finish plating. As a vintage piece, exact alloy and plating thickness are not specified; this necklace presents as yellow‑gold tone with Italian manufacture noted on the item.

Q: Will the gold‑tone finish tarnish or wear over time?
A: Gold‑plated/brass jewellery can gradually dull, scratch, or show wear on high‑friction points with regular use. Minimising moisture, sweat, perfumes, and lotions, and storing the piece separately will help preserve the finish.

Q: Is it hypoallergenic?
A: Brass‑based, gold‑plated jewellery is not guaranteed hypoallergenic. Those with sensitivities to metals such as copper, zinc, or nickel should exercise caution, limit prolonged wear, and consider using a clear jewellery barrier on contact areas.

Q: How should I clean and care for it?
A: Wipe after wear with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For a deeper clean, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, then rinse briefly and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cloths, polishing agents, ultrasonic cleaners, alcohols, or jewellery dips, which can strip plating. Store individually in a soft pouch.

Q: What does the Triomphe motif refer to?
A: The Triomphe design is a historic Céline emblem inspired by the ornate chain links around Paris’s Arc de Triomphe, a house signature that has been revived in recent collections and appears in various jewellery and leather goods.

Q: How can I check authenticity on vintage Céline jewellery?
A: Look for quality construction, crisp and evenly finished links, and clean engravings such as CELINE and country of origin near the clasp or on a small tag. Hallmarks and maker’s marks are often placed in discreet areas. Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated by our in‑house experts before sale.

Q: What exactly is included with this item and what is the condition?
A: Accessories: no accessories are included unless stated. Condition: Very Good, showing light traces of use; hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches, consistent with careful wear.
