Q: What is the fit and length of this choker?
A: The perimeter is approximately 38 cm, designed to sit close to the neck like a classic choker. For best fit, measure your neck and add 1–2 cm for comfort. If you prefer extra room, you can add a small necklace extender without altering the piece.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: This model has a lobster clasp. Minor adjustment may be possible by fastening to different links, but it is primarily intended to be worn at around 38 cm. A short extender can provide additional length if needed.

Q: What are the key materials and features?
A: Gold-tone hardware with a black leather–interwoven chain, a central black medallion featuring the CC logo, and a lobster clasp closure. It is a vintage Chanel design made in Italy.

Q: What is the condition of this item?
A: Very good condition with light signs of use. The hardware is shiny with light surface scratches, consistent with gentle wear on a vintage piece. Please review the photos and product information for full details.

Q: What is included according to the product information?
A: This piece comes with a box. Everything included is listed under the product information section; if an item is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How should I care for the leather and gold-tone finish?
A: Handle with care and avoid contact with water, perfumes, lotions, and cleaning chemicals. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth and store separately in its box or a soft pouch away from humidity and direct sunlight. Do not use metal polishes or abrasive cloths; avoid conditioning the leather unless advised by a leather-care professional.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower, pool, or during exercise?
A: No. Moisture, chlorine, and perspiration can dull the plating and dry or stain the leather. Remove the choker before bathing, swimming, or workouts.

Q: Is the hardware hypoallergenic?
A: Chanel costume jewellery is typically gold-tone plated over base metal and is not solid gold. If you have sensitive skin or metal allergies, limit prolonged contact and consider using a jewellery barrier product. Discontinue wear if irritation occurs.

Q: Where is the Chanel hallmark usually found and what does it mean?
A: Many vintage Chanel necklaces have a small signature plaque near the clasp. Depending on the era, it may include the Chanel name and a season/year code that helps identify the production period. The exact placement and style vary by collection.

Q: How do you authenticate this piece?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, construction, stamping/hallmarks, hardware, and overall craftsmanship, supported by historical references. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide further details on request.
