Q: What is the length and how adjustable is it?
A: The necklace measures approximately 37 cm in perimeter and closes with an adjustable lobster clasp for a personalised fit. For comfort, a choker should usually be about 1–2 cm longer than your neck measurement; this ensures it sits snug rather than tight. If you need extra length, a small extender chain can be added (not included).

Q: Will this fit my neck comfortably?
A: Measure your neck where a choker would sit. If your measurement is close to 35–36 cm, this 37 cm piece should give the classic close choker look; if your neck is smaller, it will sit a touch looser. You should be able to slip a fingertip between the band and your neck—if not, adjust the clasp or add an extender for ease.

Q: What materials is this Dior choker made from?
A: It features a soft black velvet band, gunmetal‑tone plated metal hardware and a crystal‑embellished DIOR logo. Like most Dior fashion jewellery, the metal components are plated rather than solid precious metal, and the stones are crystals rather than diamonds.

Q: How should I care for the velvet and crystals?
A: Keep the choker dry and apply perfume, hairspray and skincare before putting it on. After wear, lightly brush the velvet with a clean, soft brush or lint‑free cloth to lift the pile and remove dust. Spot‑blot marks—never soak or machine‑wash velvet. Store it flat in a breathable pouch, away from direct sunlight and from harder pieces that could rub the crystals or plating.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower or while exercising?
A: No—avoid water, steam, swimming and heavy perspiration. Moisture can flatten or mark velvet and may dull crystal sparkle or accelerate wear to plated finishes. Remove the choker before bathing, workouts or sleep.

Q: Is this nickel‑free and suitable for sensitive skin?
A: We cannot guarantee the absence of nickel in fashion jewellery alloys. If you’re sensitive, limit prolonged contact, consider applying a clear jewellery barrier to the metal areas that touch skin, and discontinue wear if any irritation occurs. Those with severe allergies may prefer verified nickel‑free metals.

Q: How do you authenticate this Dior choker?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts. Dior hallmarks are typically found on the clasp or signature tag, with stamp styles varying by era (e.g., “Chr. Dior” on earlier pieces and “Christian Dior ©” on later ones). We can share close‑up hallmark photos on request.

Q: What exactly is included with this item?
A: Everything that comes with the piece is listed under the product information on this page. If an item such as a box or dust bag is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How should a choker sit on the neck?
A: It should rest just above the collarbone, sitting snug but not tight, without leaving pressure marks. If you feel pinching or see redness, loosen the clasp slightly or use an extender for comfort.

Q: Can I layer it with other necklaces?
A: Yes—try pairing it with a fine, longer chain for balance. To preserve the velvet and crystals, avoid layering with abrasive chains that could rub against the band or logo.
