Q: Are these suitable for non‑pierced ears?
A: Yes. They feature a clip‑on fastening designed for non‑pierced ears and can also be worn comfortably by those with pierced ears who prefer clip‑ons.

Q: Will clip‑on earrings be comfortable for extended wear?
A: Comfort varies by ear shape and clip tension. Start with shorter wear and add silicone comfort pads to diffuse pressure. Reposition them periodically and avoid overtightening the clip. If you experience pinching, a jeweller can often make a minor tension adjustment to improve comfort.

Q: How do I keep clip‑on earrings secure without discomfort?
A: Place the clip on the soft, fleshy part of the lobe (not too close to the edge), ensure skin is clean and dry, and consider silicone pads or non‑slip cushions. These increase grip while reducing pressure, helping the earrings stay put without pinching.

Q: Can these clip‑ons be converted to pierced earrings?
A: In many cases a professional jeweller can convert clip‑ons to posts. This may alter the original construction and could affect collectable value. If conversion is important to you, consult a trusted jeweller first and keep the original parts.

Q: How should I clean and care for the rhinestones and gold‑tone finish?
A: Keep them dry. Do not soak or use ultrasonic cleaners, as moisture can seep behind foil‑backed stones and cause dulling. Instead, gently dry‑brush dust with a soft clean brush and buff the metal lightly with a dry, lint‑free cloth. Avoid perfumes, hairspray and lotions on or near the earrings, and store them in their box when not in use.

Q: Will the red rhinestones darken or fall out over time?
A: With vintage rhinestones, trapped moisture can darken the foil backing and old adhesives can fatigue. Keep the earrings dry and handle with care. If a stone becomes loose, a professional can reset it with an appropriate adhesive.

Q: Are they nickel‑free or hypoallergenic?
A: Materials in costume jewellery vary by season and year. Many current Dolce & Gabbana bijoux pieces are made in brass and described as nickel‑free/hypoallergenic, but this vintage pair’s exact alloy isn’t specified. If you have a known sensitivity, use barrier pads or a clear jewellery shield on the clip surfaces and monitor for any reaction.

Q: What are the measurements and how heavy are they?
A: Approximate dimensions are 4 cm high × 2 cm wide × 1.5 cm deep. An exact weight is not specified for this pair. If you need a precise gram weight, please contact us and we’ll be happy to check.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: The earrings come with a box, as listed under Accessories.

Q: How do you verify authenticity?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully examined by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, hardware, and signatures. We stand by the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional photos or details on request.
