Q: What size is this Hermès Fourre Tout Tote Bag?
A: This PM tote measures approximately 30 x 23 x 8 cm, with a handle drop of around 9 cm. It is a compact everyday tote that sits in the small-to-medium range, making it practical for daily essentials without feeling bulky.

Q: What typically fits inside the Hermès Fourre Tout PM?
A: The PM size is well suited to everyday items such as a phone, purse, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch, and a compact notebook or e-reader. It is best thought of as a neat daily tote rather than a large work bag, so we recommend checking the measurements on this page if you plan to carry larger items.

Q: Is this bag handheld or shoulder-carry?
A: This piece is designed primarily to be carried by hand. With a handle drop of approximately 9 cm, it may fit very lightly over the arm for some people, but it is not intended as a shoulder bag and it does not have a shoulder strap.

Q: Does the Fourre Tout close securely?
A: Fourre Tout PM bags are known for their easy everyday design, typically featuring a snap-tab style top closure rather than a full zip. That makes the bag convenient to access, while still offering a bit more security than a completely open tote.

Q: Is the Hermès Fourre Tout a good everyday bag?
A: Yes. One of the main reasons this model remains popular on the pre-owned market is its sturdy canvas construction, lightweight feel, and understated design. It works especially well as a casual day bag for errands, lunch dates, travel essentials, or light daily use.

Q: How durable is the canvas on a Fourre Tout bag?
A: The Fourre Tout line is appreciated for its robust canvas body, which generally handles regular wear well. As with most vintage canvas bags, signs such as corner wear, light fading, or surface marks can appear over time, but this material is one of the reasons the style is valued as a practical everyday Hermès option.

Q: How should I care for a vintage canvas Hermès tote?
A: For routine care, gently wipe the canvas with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaning products or soaking the fabric. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and lightly stuff it when not in use to help maintain its shape. As with any vintage item, gentle handling will help preserve the bag over time.

A: This particular bag is rated Very Good condition, with light traces of use externally and internally. The hardware is shiny with light scratches. We recommend reviewing all photos and product information carefully so you have a full picture of the item's current condition.
