Q: What is the Louis Vuitton Bijoux Sac Tapage Bag Charm made of?
A: The Tapage is a decorative bag charm crafted from mixed plated metals in gold and silver tones, featuring Louis Vuitton Monogram flower motifs and a secure lobster-clasp attachment. Some variants include an engraved LV plaque. Finishes and exact detailing can vary slightly by year of production.

Q: What are the measurements and how heavy is it?
A: This piece is approximately 15.5–16 cm long with a width around 6.5 cm. Depth is slim at about 0.5 cm. Weight for this model typically falls in the 70–80 g range, giving it a substantial feel without being overly heavy.

Q: Will it fit my bag and how do I attach it?
A: The lobster clasp opens to clip onto most handbag D‑rings, handle bases, or hardware loops. For best results (and to minimise marks), attach it to metal hardware rather than directly onto delicate leather. On very open totes or thin drawstrings, heavier charms may swing more—check that the clasp is fully closed after attaching.

Q: Can I use it as a key holder?
A: The Tapage is primarily a bag charm, but many owners use it for keys as well. Depending on the exact variant, some pieces include a split key ring while others rely on the clasp only. If you plan to carry keys, keep the set light to avoid strain and scratching. Please refer to the product information on this page for what is included with this item.

Q: Will it scratch or mark my bag?
A: Any metal charm can rub against softer surfaces. To minimise wear, attach the charm to hardware rather than leather, avoid overcrowding with other metal pieces, and remove it for heavy use or travel. Storing the charm separately when not in use also helps prevent micro‑scratches.

Q: How should I clean and care for the metal finish?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints and dust. Avoid harsh chemicals, jewellery dips, or abrasive polishes, which can thin or discolour plated finishes. If deeper care is needed, consult a professional or request guidance through Louis Vuitton Client Services or their repair programme. Store the charm separately in a cool, dry place to reduce scratching and oxidation.

Q: Is the finish solid gold?
A: No. Tapage charms are fashion jewellery pieces made of plated metal (gold‑ and silver‑tone). The plating provides the colour and shine but is not solid precious metal. Normal, gentle use is recommended to preserve the finish over time.

Q: Does this item have a date code or microchip?
A: Earlier Louis Vuitton small goods often carried an alphanumeric date code (e.g., letters plus numbers) stamped on the hardware; since 2021 the Maison has been transitioning to embedded microchips in many items. Depending on production year, your charm may have a small date code or rely on internal identifiers assessed during authentication.

Q: What is included with this listing?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section on this page. If a dust bag, box, or other item is not listed there, it is not included—feel free to contact us if you need clarification.

Q: Can Louis Vuitton service or refinish this charm if needed?
A: Louis Vuitton offers assessment and repair services for many leather goods and related items, and can advise on care options. Availability of refinishing for small metal pieces may vary by region and boutique—your local LV Client Services can provide the most accurate guidance.
