Q: Will this sleeve fit my 16‑inch laptop (e.g., MacBook Pro)?
A: The sleeve is listed as size 16‑inch and measures approximately 25 × 35 × 2 cm. Many slim 15–16‑inch laptops will fit, but very large 16‑inch models can be a snug fit—especially if used with a hard case. As a guide, recent 16‑inch MacBook Pro models are around 35.6 × 24.8 × 1.7 cm; please compare your device’s dimensions and contact us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Can I use it with a laptop case or shell attached?
A: We recommend using the sleeve with the bare device or a very slim snap‑on/skin. Bulky protective shells and padded third‑party sleeves may exceed the interior clearance and make the zip difficult to close safely. If in doubt, share your device and case measurements and we’ll advise.

Q: Is it padded? How protective is it?
A: Crafted in Louis Vuitton’s Monogram coated canvas with a textile lining, this sleeve offers everyday scratch protection and light bump resistance. It is not a hard case and isn’t designed for drop protection. For commuting, avoid overstuffing and handle electronic devices with care.

Q: What else fits inside besides the laptop?
A: There is one internal slip pocket for slim items (e.g., papers, a notebook, or cables). Given the 2 cm depth, bulky chargers and a mouse may make it tight alongside a large laptop. A4 documents (29.7 × 21 cm) fit flat; for best results carry either the laptop or documents/tablet, rather than all at once.

Q: How secure is the closure? Will the zip scratch my device?
A: The zip‑around closure provides good everyday security. When inserting your laptop, keep the zip fully open and the pullers clear of the device’s edges; consider a thin microfiber sleeve or placing the laptop in spine‑first to minimise contact with the teeth.

Q: Is the Monogram canvas water‑resistant?
A: Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas is durable and water‑resistant, but not fully waterproof. Keep the sleeve away from heavy rain and prolonged moisture; if it gets lightly wet, blot gently with a soft cloth and allow to air‑dry away from heat sources.

Q: How should I care for the materials and hardware?
A: Wipe coated canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately; avoid harsh cleaners or alcohol‑based products. For the textile lining, shake out dust and spot‑clean lightly if needed. Store the sleeve upright, lightly padded, in its dust bag; avoid overfilling to protect the zip and keep the silhouette crisp.

Q: Does this piece have a date code or microchip?
A: Louis Vuitton used date codes on most items produced up to around 2021, then transitioned to embedded microchips on newer pieces. This specific sleeve bears the code TY3250 and is stamped Made in France. Date codes assist with dating but are only one part of authentication; A Retro Tale independently verifies every item.

Q: What accessories are included?
A: This listing includes a dust bag as shown under “Accessories.” If an item (e.g., box, paperwork) isn’t listed there, it isn’t included—feel free to ask us to confirm.

Q: How do you authenticate and what is the condition?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps/date code and overall construction. This sleeve is in Very Good condition with light traces of use; hardware is shiny with light scratches. Please review our photos and description for the exact condition of this piece.
