Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Monogram Viva Cite GM Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 37 x 22 x 11 cm, this GM size is well suited to everyday essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, a small cosmetics pouch, and a compact notebook. The multiple pockets also help keep smaller items organised. Please use the Measurements on this page as the best guide to capacity.

Q: Is this a good everyday shoulder bag?
A: Yes. The Viva Cite GM is known for combining a practical layout with a classic Monogram look, which is why it remains popular on the pre-owned market. This piece has adjustable shoulder straps with an approximate 23 cm drop, making it suitable for comfortable daily shoulder carry.

Q: How many pockets does this bag have?
A: This bag features two external flap pockets, two internal pockets, and a top zip main compartment. It is a great option if you prefer easy organisation rather than keeping everything loose in one section.

Q: What does the condition mean for this specific item?
A: This bag is listed in Very Good condition. The Vachetta leather shows visible patina, with watermarks on the strap and scuffing on the trim. Inside, there is light trace of use, and the brass hardware remains shiny with light scratches. These signs are consistent with a well-kept vintage Louis Vuitton bag.

Q: Is the date code readable on this bag?
A: The date code on this piece is listed as illegible. On older Louis Vuitton bags, date codes can fade with age and wear, especially when stamped on interior materials. A faded code is not unusual on vintage pieces and does not, by itself, determine authenticity.

Q: Does Louis Vuitton use serial numbers on bags like this?
A: Louis Vuitton is known for using date codes rather than unique serial numbers on most older bags. These codes help indicate when and where a bag was made, but they are only one part of authentication. Materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and overall construction should always be considered together.

Q: Is the patina and watermarking on the leather normal?
A: Yes. Louis Vuitton’s natural Vachetta leather is untreated and develops a darker honey-toned patina over time. It is also sensitive to moisture, so watermarks can appear with use. On this item, the patina and strap watermarks are already noted in the condition description.

Q: How should I care for this bag?
A: Clean the coated canvas gently with a soft damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners, oils, or alcohol-based products. If the leather trim gets wet, blot it straight away with a light, absorbent cloth rather than rubbing. For storage, keep the bag lightly stuffed in its dust bag in a ventilated area and avoid overfilling it, as this helps preserve the shape.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This bag includes a dust bag. Everything included with the purchase is shown in the product information on this page; if something is not listed there, it should not be assumed to be included.
