Q: Are these Chanel Coco Mark Pearl Clip‑on Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are the pearls real and are the stones diamonds?
A: Chanel costume jewellery is typically crafted from plated base metal (here in a silver/gunmetal‑tone) with strass/crystal embellishments and imitation “glass” pearls unless explicitly stated otherwise. Chanel’s fashion pieces famously use faux pearls and crystals rather than natural pearls or diamonds. Please review the close‑up photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm the exact components on this pair.

Q: What are the measurements and how do they look when worn?
A: Each earring is listed at approximately 2.3 cm (height) x 2.3 cm (width) x 1.0 cm (depth). The camellia flower motif with CC logo reads as a refined on‑ear statement. If you’d like the precise gram weight or a photo on ear for scale, message us and we’ll provide it.

Q: How secure and comfortable are the clip‑on backs? Can I adjust them?
A: Clip‑ons should feel snug but not painful. You can fine‑tune tension gently on the clip mechanism and add soft silicone/foam pads to cushion pressure. If clips feel too tight or loose, a jeweller can make minor adjustments. Avoid over‑bending the hardware to prevent damage.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on Chanel earrings?
A: Vintage Chanel earrings commonly feature an oval cartouche or stamping with CHANEL, a country of origin (often “Made in France/Italy”), and in many eras a season/date code. Placement varies by model; our listing photos show any plaques or engravings present on this pair.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive ears? Are they nickel‑free?
A: Fashion/costume jewellery alloys can contain nickel. Regulations limit nickel release in many markets, but sensitivities vary. If you have known allergies, consider using barrier pads on the clips, limit wear time, and discontinue use if irritation occurs. We’re happy to advise further.

Q: How should I care for the silver/gunmetal‑tone plating, crystals and faux pearls?
A: Keep the earrings dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and hand sanitiser. Put jewellery on after cosmetics, avoid humidity and prolonged sunlight, and wipe gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth after wear. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dips. Store individually in a pouch/box to prevent friction and preserve the finish and sparkle.

Q: Can clip‑on earrings be converted to pierced posts?
A: Many clip‑on styles can be converted by a jeweller, but modification is invasive and may affect originality and resale value. Non‑invasive “converter” components also exist for some designs. We don’t offer in‑house alterations; contact us if you’d like recommendations for specialists.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: This pair is in Very Good Condition with light signs of careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. Accessories are not included unless specifically shown—this item comes with no accessories. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
