Q: What are these earrings made from?
A: Chanel costume jewellery typically combines plated metal with strass crystals and glass pearls. This pair features gunmetal‑tone hardware, a faux pearl centre with CC logo and a rhinestone‑embellished halo. For complete details, please refer to the product information on this page.

Q: Are they hypoallergenic or nickel‑free?
A: Chanel does not market its costume earrings as hypoallergenic or nickel‑free. If you have sensitive ears or a known metal allergy, we recommend short initial wear, using silicone sleeves or a barrier product on the posts, and removing the earrings at the first sign of irritation.

Q: Can I wear them in water or while exercising?
A: We recommend removing them before showering, swimming or workouts. Moisture, sweat, chlorine and saltwater can dull the plating and may loosen rhinestones or affect faux‑pearl coatings.

Q: How should I clean and care for the rhinestones and faux pearl?
A: After each wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, lotions and household cleaners. Do not soak or use ultrasonic cleaners; excess moisture can damage foil‑backed crystals and adhesives. Store them dry and separately to prevent scratches.

Q: Will the stones fall out over time, and can they be repaired if they do?
A: With vintage costume jewellery, adhesive‑set stones can loosen with wear. Many specialist jewellers can reset or replace crystals. Chanel boutiques primarily service fine jewellery; availability for costume‑jewellery repairs varies by location. If a stone is loose on arrival, contact us and we will assist.

Q: Do these come with a box or other items?
A: Everything included is listed under product information. For this listing, no additional items such as a branded box or spare backs are included unless stated.

Q: Are these clip‑ons or pierced studs, and what backs do they use?
A: They are pierced stud earrings with a post back closure. Standard butterfly or comfort backs that fit typical posts can be used if you prefer extra support.

Q: How can I verify authenticity?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is authenticated by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, stamping and era‑correct details. Genuine Chanel earrings often feature a maker’s stamp or plaque, with formats that vary by production era; we can share additional photos on request.

Q: How should I store them?
A: Keep them in a dry, padded pouch or box, stored separately from other pieces. Avoid high humidity and direct sunlight, and keep the backs attached so they are not misplaced.
